HP Pavilion MS214 All-in-One PC

In the past, most budget all-in-one PCs (20 inches or smaller) have come with an Intel Atom processor--a low-powered netbook favorite. So it's interesting to see HP use a faster 1.5GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 CPU for the MS214 ($600 as of December 8,...

Very good performance ; Upgradable hard disk and RAM

Only 802.11g Wi-Fi (no N) ; No touchscreen

The 18.5-inch MS214 delivers a decent mix of features, performance, and price--so long as you can do without a touchscreen and slow networking.

HP Pavilion All-in-One MS214 PC

The HP All-in-One MS214 desktop PC combines an 18.5-inch screen and dual core Athlon X2 power. Not bad for a system under $600.

Windows 7. Solidly built. Good price. Dual-core all-in-one desktop. All the internals built into the screen. HD capable graphics. Improved MediaSmart software.

Low screen resolution (1,366-by-768) prevents 3D testing. Windows 7 and PhotoShop incompatibilities. Just 60 days of Internet Security updates. Bloatware.

HP Pavilion MS214a

It won't thrill any Apple fans into not buying an iMac, but HP's latest all-in-one is quietly powerful at an acceptable price point.

Lots of bundled applications, Easy installation

Design is plain, Keyboard is ordinary

Review: HP Pavilion All-in-One PC MS214

All-in-one PCs have come a long way in the past few years. The iMac led the way, but PCs have been catching up quickly, and in some ways surpassing. One of HPs newest All-In-One PCs is the Pavilion MS214.

Overall the Pavilion MS214 is a very low end computer, but if you don’t need or want to play games or watch 1080p movies, then this should be good enough. The price is also matched to the hardware. At just under $600 this seems to be a decent price. I...

Review: HP MS214 desktop PC

HP produces a cheap but capable all in one desktop.

Good (if very iMac-like) design with added expansion ; Performs well for the price; Windows 7 a help ; Built-in webcam and Wi-Fi with DLNA support ; LightScribe burning at a low cost

Could use added performance ; So-so webcam and mouse quality ; Big external power brick

hardware design and the feature setThe MS214 is a great looking and surprisingly well-designed piece of technology. While not a stunner, the entire computer is no more than two inches thick and is mounted to a very sturdy plastic, angled stand;

HP Pavilion MS214 review

For that reason, it's easier to compare the Pavilion MS214 to a thin and light notebook than a netbook. In my tests, the computer scroed about as well on most tests as I would expect a notebook with an Intel CULV processor to perform. But the HP...

HP Pavilion All-in-One MS214 Review

The HP isn't built for benchmark speed tests (its Windows Experience Index, dragged down by sub-Aero-worthy graphics, is a wimpy 2.9 on the operating system's 7.9-point scale). But we were curious, so we can report that the MS214 rendered Cinebench R10...

HP Pavilion All-In-One MS214a desktop PC

An attractive all-in-one desktop PC for the modern living room

Attractive enclosure, MediaSmart software is handy, can handle some older games

Lacks Bluetooth and 802.11n Wi-Fi, bloatware

A step up from the Pavilion All-In-One MS212a, this beefier HP PC gives you faster media encoding and the ability play older games. Though better value options are available, this desktop PC should be suitable for families.

HP Pavilion MS214 review

The HP Pavilion MS214 is very well built. Its screen (encased in black plastic) is ably supported by a nice and sturdy Apple iMac-like stand, which lets the screen tilt back and forth, and it's definitely one of the best we've seen.

The HP Pavilion MS214 offers Windows 7, host of useful software, great screen quality, and good overall performance. If you're looking for a nice balance between budget and speed, the HP Pavilion MS214 is the all-in-one PC for you.
