HP Pavilion Slimline s5660f

We've been fans of Gateway's $500 to $600 SX line of slim tower PCs, but HP's fixed-configuration, $750 Pavilion Slimline s5660f makes a strong showing as a higher-end living-room-friendly desktop. Bulging with digital media features, the Slimline...

All of the features we'd want in a living-room-friendly slim tower; fast computing performance; budget video card will play HD video and most 3D games.

No FireWire or eSATA ports; power hog.

From fast performance, to a Blu-ray drive, to plentiful other features, HP's Pavilion Slimline includes almost everything we'd ask for in our ideal living-room slim tower PC. It will seem expensive if you're more inclined to get a Nettop or a set-top...

"Power supply is bad on all these HP Pavilion Slimlines"

Now I know why HP was considering abandoning their computer business. I guess they were going to leave it before it left them....

Check out the YouTube video on fixing the HP Pavilion Slimline power supply before you buy this so-called computer..

Apparently the motherboards are also bad. And the HP tech support was not helpful and wanted $330 and 2 weeks to fix it. It went out of warranty last month, of course.

Good features. Great size. Reasonable price.

No regrets....yet?!?!?

Had this system since December 2010. No complaints. Good features...blu-ray, wi-fi, tv tuner... I ordered the slimline for the size... small enough to keep inside desk. I ordered the 23 monitor and have been happy with the setup so far....no issues

All the HP software crap that comes bundled

A dog. The tuner card does not find digital stations.

Could not function as intended and desired - that is, view and record the live digital TV stations I subscribe to.

Nice WiFi connectivity

After four hours with an HP tech support person, we gave up. We couldn't get the tuner card to find the majority of the digital stations on Cox Cable in Northern Virginia. It could only find six of 25+ stations. Totally unsatisfactory

if you lovde the s3330f will love the successor

No regrets....yet?!?!?

i'm writing this review from the s5660f's predecessor, the slimline s3330f. was (i believe) the first slimline that came with a HDDVD/BDD hybrid drive and i still use it as my main BD player. the newer model has a faster quad core CPU and more RAM

i would have given this the full 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that they decided to remove the firewire port and the various card readers besides SD. can't tell from specs alone but i hope there isn't a wireless dongle for the keyboard/mouse
