The outside of the case has six USB 2.0 ports, which is average for entry-level desktops. There aren't any FireWire, USB 3.0, or eSATA ports, but entry-level users are unlikely to be too hung up about their absence. What counts for most people is that...

Multi-monitor support. Small form factor. Quiet. Decent multimedia performance

Very limited internal expansion. Only 6-in-1 card reader. Non-upgradable graphics. No HDMI. No eSATA. Bloatware

The HP Pavilion Slimline s5710f is OK out of the box, but it is essentially non-upgradable. It feels as though HP took too much out to hit a price point, and that's not how you want to feel about a purchase that's supposed to last you five to seven years.
