HP TouchSmart 300 Desktop PC

HP has been offering good utility and simplicity in computing through its TouchSmart line of products in the past. Following this trend is the TouchSmart 300 and the model we tested has a suffix ‘1040-in'. The 300 is quitemuch smaller than its elder...

If you want an easy to use, touch-interface all-in-one PC, this one is a good option. But if the touch interface doesn't fascinate you, then you can get a good HTPC, which will also play games (install a graphics card), for Rs. 68,799 or even lesser.

HP TouchSmart 300-1120

Editors' note: This review is part of our 2010 Retail Laptop and Desktop Back-to-School roundup , covering specific fixed configurations of popular systems that can be found in retail stores.

Best-in-class touch software.

Small screen and underwhelming PC components for the price; slow performance

On first inspection the HP TouchSmart 300-1120 seems like a capable enough all-in-one, but it loses a lot of appeal once you compare it with others on the market. If you want an all-in-one PC for the kitchen counter, this system may work for you. For...

HP TouchSmart 300 All-in-One PC

HP has churned out a number of multitouch-capable machines under the TouchSmart line, and the 20-inch TouchSmart 300 is its latest effort.

Great general performance ; HDTV tuner

Sluggish custom software ; Weak graphics performance

TouchSmart style and design shines, but sluggish custom software hampers an otherwise solid package.

HP TouchSmart 300-1020

Editors' note: This review is part of our 2009 Retail Laptop and Desktop Holiday Roundup , which covers specific fixed configurations of popular systems found in retail stores.

Strong touch-based recipe software, attractive and capable enough as a small-scale home entertainment device.

Other all-in-one PCs in its price range have larger screens; missing a few features we liked about the higher-end TouchSmart 600; outperformed by cheaper midtower desktops.

With a small screen for its price, we can't justify the TouchSmart 300 as a home entertainment all-in-one PC. It's also slower than more affordable midtowers, so you can spend less for more productivity. This leaves HP's touch-based software as the...

HP TouchSmart 300

Awesome touchscreen display and user interface; TouchSmart versions of Netflix, Hulu, and Pandora; can be wall mounted

Integrated graphics; voice-recognition needs work; not designed for demanding applications

HP’s latest touchscreen PC is the best family-oriented computer we’ve ever encountered.

HP TouchSmart 300-1007

Typing on the on-screen keyboard is just as responsive as using the wireless physical keyboard. In fact, the touch screen response seems to be even more responsive than on the TouchSmart 600. This isn't a surprise, since the TouchSmart 300 only has to...

Compact All in one Form factor. Added HP software is useful. Sensitive touch screen. Kitchen friendly. Wall mountable. Wireless keyboard and mouse. Two year warranty

Screen isn't full 1080p HD. Only 60-day subscription to Internet Security. No TV or video inputs. Monitor attracts smudges. Blu-ray not available

The HP TouchSmart 300-1007 is a 20-inch, touch-enabled, Windows 7 all-in-one PC that's perfect for families sharing a single computer. It's made for quick in-and-out surfing sessions rather than being the primary PC for any one person, unless that...

HP TouchSmart 300-1025 Desktop PC

With the release of Windows 7, multi touch computing has finally been something worth looking into because Windows 7 supports multiple touch points for the first time ever and the interface has been redesigned to be "touch friendly". The HP TouchSmart...

Multi-touch w/ Windows 7 ; Responsive touch screen ; Sleek design for many uses ; Wireless keyboard & mouse

Fingerprints & smudges show easily ; No HDMI-in port ; HP pre-loads too much bloatware

We felt that performance of the HP TouchSmart 300-1025 is very speedy and will well-suit any user. This is an especially good desktop PC for the dorm room or bedroom because of the built-in TV tuner and the touch screen just adds to the style of the...

HP TouchSmart 300 – No HDMI port

HP TouchSmart 300 is a good performer in terms of productivity but it is not as good as the higher end HP TouchSmart 600. I did some multitasking and was pretty satisfied with what the machine had to offer. Compared to the Acer Aspire Z5610, the HP...

"Horrible customer service, defective computer!"

10 months after I bought my HP Touchsmart 300 it began to freeze up and black out, after a few weeks it became completely non-functional. I called HP tech. support (outsourced to India - way to go HP!) to request repair. After several hours on the...

Absolutely none!

You are lucky if you get a years use out of this computer. Hard drives and motherboards are requiring replacement within the first year. Continued problem. Dealing with HP customer service is a horrible experience.
