Beware! Go with anything else

My god, I've never hated a piece of technology so much. EVERY DAY, multiple times a day the computer just flat out freezes. sometimes it takes a couple hard shut-downs to get it back to the login screen. the touchscreen is completely worthless, unless you have fingers that come to a fine point. the HP adviser software is nothing more than an annoying advertisement to get you to buy more HP garbage. Someone needs to file a class-action against HP, because they know about the freeze problem, but won't do anything about it. read more reviews, it's a common problem, not just my machine.

HP TouchSmart 600-1055

Evaluating successive generations of HP's TouchSmart series reminds us of shopping for a new car. If you fall in love and buy this year's model, you must never, ever visit the showroom to look at next year's model or you'll be hit with a bout of...

Blu-ray drive; HDMI input; improved touchscreen UI; touch-optimized third-party apps

Weak benchmark performance; integrated audio amp needs more power

We had refrained from benchmarking all-in-one machines until Dell sent us its XPS One 24 (May 2009), which came with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 desktop CPU; so it’s only fair that we benchmark HP’s offering, too. (We still don’t run our gaming...

MSI's Wind Top AE2010 does a great job of filling the gap between budget-minded all-in-one PCs, and flashier big screen models.

HP TouchSmart 600

HP's top-of-the-line third-generation TouchSmart touchscreen PC should keep the line front and center for consumers looking for an all-in-one running a Microsoft operating system. Its sharp design, surprising utility, and inspired suite of touchscreen...

Huge, gorgeous, 16:9 1080p screen ; TouchSmart suite delivers some excellent programs ; Svelte and attractive design ; Doubles nicely as a PVR/TV, complete with HDMI input for game consoles

Touchscreen is still just a smidge finicky ; Middling processor and graphics card could do with an upgrade ; It’s still a bit costly

HP’s latest all-in-one touchscreen PC, the TouchSmart 600-1055, boasts impressive upgrades to both form and function.

HP TouchSmart 600

The HP TouchSmart 600 shows how getting an early jump on unproven technology can pay off. HP was first to market with a touch-based all-in-one PC more than two years ago. Now that Windows 7 has spurred almost every major desktop vendor toward...

Matches Sony in capability to connect and switch between external video sources easily; Recipe Box touch program best kitchen app we've seen; smart touch app partnerships with Hulu, Twitter, and Netflix; loud enough to fill a room

Slow performance; touch input suffers from occasional unresponsiveness

If HP's TouchSmart 600 won't at least get you thinking about the idea of bringing a PC into your kitchen, the concept truly has no hope. With well-thought-out touch apps, a wide, easy-to-use array of digital media features, and an attractive, flexible...

HP TouchSmart 600 Desktop Review

1080p screen, Blu-ray drive, HDTV tuner ; Excellent custom touch-enabled applications

Weak graphics performance ; Limited upgradability

This third-generation TouchSmart PC is boosted by Windows 7's gesture support, but HP's custom multitouch software is even more impressive.

HP TouchSmart 600-1055 PC

The HP TouchSmart 600-1055 PC ($1,599 list) is HP's third generation of TouchSmart PCs for the home. HP pioneered touch computing for the home and each successive generation has gotten better. The latest model combines HP's Touch experience with...

Blu-ray player. True 1080p HD. Ambient Lighting. Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g/n. Minimal bloatware. Kitchen friendly. Very adjustable. Wireless everything but power and TV. HDMI and game inputs

Only 60-day subscription to Norton Internet Security. Some competitors offer Quad Core at this price point. $100-200 more expensive than rivals

The HP TouchSmart 600-1055 PC is HP's top-of-the-line Windows 7 PC that shows how touch screen interfaces are going mainstream.

HP TouchSmart 600 Review – Part I

When the latest TouchSmart PCs were announced a few months back, we were quite taken with their spiffy software and impressive spec list. This month HP challenged us to see if we could use the HP Touchsmart 600 as a dedicated Entertainment Hub for a...

HP TouchSmart 600 Review: Multitouch Multimedia Mogul

The HP TouchSmart 600 is sort of like a girl I "dated" in fourth grade. I can't say I loved her, but I can say that I really, really liked her a lot. But the TouchSmart never wore braces.

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz, 4GB DDR3 RAM, slot-load Blu-ray player/DVD burner, NVIDIA GeForce GT230M with 1GB dedicated RAM, 23-inch 1080P multitouch display, and a slew of inputs, including 6 USB, a card reader, coax, S-Video, HDMI, audio and composite

HP TouchSmart 600

This TouchSmart shines thanks to its entertainment apps and HDMI-in port. Its hardware and speed don't quite match the price, but it's the best-designed touch PC yet.

Best touch software we've seen on a PC; video inputs can connect game consoles to HD screen; TV tuner, Blu-ray drive included

Performance lags behind less-expensive all-in-ones; touch apps, while a cut above the rest, could still use improvement

Some other touch-screen all-in-one computers offer similar or better PC performance for less, but if the touch experience is more important to you than maximum performance for your money or serious gaming , the TouchSmart 600 is the clear choice. It's...
