HP TouchSmart IQ770

When HP designed the TouchSmart IQ770, it must have been thinking of that old saying, “No matter where I serve my guests, it seems they like the kitchen best.” This PC is tailor made for serving up—and scarfing down—digital media in the kitchen.

Well designed, great display, very good touch screen, relatively small footprint

HP’s TouchSmart applications are so limited that they’re virtually worthless

HP’s TouchSmart IQ770 could never serve as our primary PC—we knew going into this review that it wouldn’t compete with our zero-point reference platform, and it’s clearly not designed for hardcore gaming—but we’d rather have multiple PCs dedicated to...

HP TouchSmart IQ770

All-in-one systems are nothing new; Sony, Apple, Gateway and even Dell all have systems that integrate the monitor and PC. But with exception to Apple's iMac, none of these systems have been particularly hot sellers. Maybe they were ahead of their...

Powerful and simple to use; touch screen works great; upgradeable memory & storage

Keyboard is missing media keys; uses a mobile CPU

The TouchSmart IQ770 is the most powerful and full-featured all-in-one system we have seen to-date.

HP TouchSmart IQ770 Home Media PC

One look at the HP TouchSmart makes a striking impression. As it should, since it's in your kitchen. Reviving the all-in-one PC, the TouchSmart is easily one

Incredible good looks. Cleans up easily. Includes a spot and cables to connect an HP photo printer (without additional footprint). Decent specs: 2 GB of RAM, 320 GB hard drive, beefy graphics card, and slot-loading DVD burner. TV tuner and foot-shaped...

Pokey CPU (1.6 GHz AMD Turion) makes the TouchSmart painfully slow to respond. Windows Vista OS makes for an unhappy (and buggy) companion to sleek TouchSmart software. Screen loses clarity when not viewed straight-on. Minimal upgradeability

HP HP TouchSmart IQ770 PC

The elegant, Microsoft Vista Home Premium-based HP TouchSmart IQ770 PC is Hewlett-Packard's first stab at an all-in-one PC--and the company's first desktop system to incorporate a touch-screen display.

Beautiful, integrated design ; Touchscreen enhances PC's versatility

Mobile components turn in mediocre performance

HP TouchSmart IQ770

If two days from this posting, Apple announces a touch screen iMac at its 2007 MacWorld event, we may have to reconsider this review. Until that happens, HP's new $1,779 TouchSmart PC IQ770 is our all-in-one family PC of choice. You probably wouldn't...

Takes advantage of Windows Vista's touch screen capability with useful, easy-to-use software; combines with HP printers to become an at-home photo kiosk; contains all of the features you've come to expect from a modern digital media-oriented home PC.

Pokey performance for systems in its price range; fixed configuration; no HD optical drive option.

HP's new TouchSmart PC IQ770 is not as fast as Apple's iMac, nor does it have the same clean-lined elegance. It makes up for those problems with intuitive touch screen software you'll actually use and a comprehensive lineup of features. If you're...

HP TouchSmart IQ770 PC

The IQ770 is built around a mobile 1.6GHz dual core AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-52 processor, and as such has AMD's LIVE! Media Center enhancements. Those LIVE! enhancements (like those of Intel's Viiv) still aren't fully realized yet, but at least they are...

Great all in one design with integrated touch screen. TV controls on the screen bezel. Wireless everything. Integrated IR receiver for MCE remote. ATSC/HDTV tuner

No HD-DVD or other Hi-Def optical drive (yet). No internal CableCard support. Internet Security subscription is only 60 days. Wireless keyboard doesn't have pointing device

HP is calling its new TouchSmart IQ770 PC a "perfect kitchen PC". While it is that, it also will fit well in the den, bedroom, or anywhere you use a shared computer.

If you believe the SF movies, the future of human computer interfaces is all about 3D holodecks and virtual reality. We aren't there yet, but if the new HP TouchSmart IQ770 PC is any indication, some of us are taking small baby steps towards a world...

HardwareCentral - HP TouchSmart IQ770 Review.

The kitchen. The final frontier.

That said, it's a pleasure to watch TV shows, slide shows, or home videos on the IQ770. The high-gloss, 19-inch widescreen display proved bright and vivid, with no bad pixels to be seen on our test unit, and the stereo speakers on either side of the...

Forget every experience you have ever had with a multimedia PC and welcome the HP TouchSmart. HP really has tried to imagine every possible use when they designed this system, it has a touch screen monitor, a built in camera, a saluted 2 GBs of RAM and...

This system only comes as configured. If you would like a configurable HP try the Pavilion.
