First Look Review: HP xw8400 Workstation

Highly recommended desktop system is a bit pricey, but offers extremely quiet operation and remarkable AutoCAD performance

Although the higher price tag would ordinarily preclude the xw8400 from receiving Cadalyst's Highly Recommended rating, the stellar AutoCAD performance proved to be the determining factor here, so the HP xw8400 earns the Highly Recommended rating.

FAST as all hell

Not sure if it supports SLI video configuration, so get one good video card to make up for it since SLI is overated anyway.

I have mine configured with 2 5150's (2.66ghz) and a Geforce 8800GTS and this machine is an ultimate gamer or anything rig. Runs onboard RAID. Total of 6 fans and this machine is still whisper quiet. XP Pro sees the 4 CPU's

Only 4 Sata ports and not much room for drive expansion. A little on the expensive side but getting a great quality built machine
