Review: HP Z800 12-core Workstation

Just over a year ago I was given the opportunity to review the HP Z800 when it was first released. Back then it was a very powerful workstation with many great qualities that could not be found on any other workstation or desktop. Now a year later HP...

The Z800 has outperformed all the other workstations and desktops that I have reviewed. This is truly a fantastic machine with not only a really slick design, but also a fantastic level of performance and the potential for so much more. I am very...

Video Editing Computer Review: HP Z800 Computer Workstation

HP is justifiably proud of its new line of workstations. In a massive set of launch events, HP hosted the international technology press and shared a number of achievements its new workstations have accomplished for customers spanning the gamut of...

Well-designed chassis Extremely stable

Expensive as configured, but there are a lot of configuration options available Adding a second processor not worth it

Another great performer from HP provides some major steps forward in the world of workstations.

Review: HP Z800 8-core workstation

Check out our review of the new 12-core, water cooled, Z800 workstation.

Like I said at the beginning of this review, the first time I saw this workstation I literally said “Wow.” At the time I didn’t know anything about the performance of the Z800, I was just going off of the specs and the design. Now that I have seen how...

Review: HP Z800 workstation

Hewlett Packard, one of the most widely respected company's in the history of computing, and a true technology innovator (versus marketer), has blown the whole notion of computer design wide open with the latest version of its Z 800 workstations. The...

When people look at a product, they often don't take into consideration the design principles that may have gone into the construction of that product. Often times, the product is brought to the home or office and it performs its intended purpose. And...

Packing the power of a portable film studio into a mid-sized PC case, HP's dual Xeon workstation is a powerful creative tool, if you can afford it

An expensive machine to be sure, but perfect if you're thinking of starting the next Pixar from your garage

HP Z800 Workstation review

At its launch, HP referred to its Z800 as a rock star amongst workstations. We take it for spin to see if it deserves to sit centre stage or if it should head back into rehab.

The Z800 is a great looking, and very cleverly put together workstation offering tool-less access to the internals. Despite offering simply outstanding levels of performance it runs quietly. The initial costs may be high, but if you depend on...

Way Too Expensive

Nice stable system

Way too expensive, just built a system with quad-core i7, same HD, same memory, same for less than third of this price. Ridiculous. Just because it has a xeon in it, doesn't mean it's a workstation, or that it's worth this price

Nice but pricey

Go for the ieveno for 1k or the toshiba laptop on here for 1k before shelling out half a years pay for a good processor and a bunch of cheap filler parts

1. XEON processor ; Love AMD processors but right now hyperthreading makes the intel a little better, the problem here is its 4 cores at 3ghz I mean that's fast processing but what about the rest ; 2. It's an HP ; Like it or love it hp makes a good...

1. Low RAM and that's what you really need. I mean hey the xeon is great but really 6gb won't get me to shell out 5k ; 2. hdd space low. I mean really once again not spending more than 2k on anything less than half a terra, hopefully you buy in the 1k...
