AMD was busy last month with the launch of the ATI Radeon HD 4850 and Radeon HD 4870 graphics cards, which have both proved themselves to be price versus performance winners. This month, AMD is starting off by launching three new processors: the ...
AMD Phenom X4 energy-efficient processors are just 65W and perform right where we expected a 2.0GHz Phenom to run at. The AMD Phenom X4 9950 raises the performance bar, but it also raises the max TDP and limits the number of motherboards you can use ...
When the AMD Phenom series of processors launched back on November 19th, 2007 no one could have expected just how rough things were about to get for AMD. AMD has fixed the problems with a new B3 stepping of Phenom. All of the new Phenom B3 steppings ...
AMD fixes the Phenom X4 processor with the release of the 50-series, but launches the Phenom X3 processor series with B2 steppings that have the same issuses as the old Phenoms. Strange huh?
Like the rest of AMD's Phenom X4 processor range, this 9550 is an entry-level quad-core CPU
- Makes use of its four cores in some applications
- Not as powerful as it should be, - Uses too much power
We find it quite hard to recommend you buy any of AMD's Phenom X4 processors. They might look cheap, but they fall way short of the mark given they're quad-core models.

Cranks through multiple processes like a minature mainframe. Still scores 7+ in Windows 7 even though it's becoming a little dated. I run two VMware guests OSs plus play BF2 with no stuttering or slowdown. Even tried it one time with a DivX encoding runni...
Not an AM3 so it will never get to play with DDR3 memory which would be neat to see. Does generate a bit of heat
If you still have a dual core.. get this little chip and you'll be very amazed.
Worked Great right out of the box. Rand games like a champ paired with my SLi 9600s (upgrading soon)
The packaging was a little iffy but its and OEM so I can't really count that as a fault on thier part. They taped the package.. that's really all they need to do to secure it well
I have been using AMD processors exclusively for the last ten to fifteen years. The Phenom processor is another great AMD product and performed flawlessly. With eight GB or RAM and the quad core processor, my computer is now super fast
