Intel BX80637I53570K

Read a lot of reviews and came down to xeon 1230v2 and i5 3750k. Chose this one because of the gpu support and didnt necessarily need the hyper threading

It's a good solid cpu with excellent performance, I had hoped for a better overclock but I am happy with it, as there is never a guarantees with overclocking. At stock setting, it worked fine, and that all u can take as a guarantee from a manufacturer.

Works great running stock speed, with stock cooler ; Overclock, stable at 4.3ghz, can't get 4.4 or greater no matter what! See cons

Ran kinda hot with stock speed, and stock cooler ; Put in water cooling, still warmer than expected at stock settings ; Had to remove ihs, clean, and reassemble with arctic silver ; This brought temps down to expected ; Overclock to 4.3ghz, fully...

Just buy it already...

This CPU is amazing. I have an MSI mobo that overclocks this thing up to 4.2Ghz and i've only ever seen the temp get up to 65c in the -heat- of battle. Perfect for everyday use! This thing cuts through everything i've thrown at it and stays cool......

Fast Fast Fast ; Cool ; Fast

Another happy customer

I upgraded from my beloved AMD X4 965, which was holding back my RADEON 7870, and instantly my framerates stabilized and improved at the highest quality settings in Defiance and SWTOR. I'll be overclocking this later this evening on my GIGABYTE...

Great performance relative to other chips, good overclocker, good power consumption

Expensive. This chip should cost about $190. I docked an egg for this

Fantastic processor, defective heatsink/fan...

RMA'ing the whole processor/HSF unit wasn't a realistic option for me, since I needed to get this built and operational post-haste. I fortunately had a spare stock Intel HSF on hand, but others may not be so lucky. After 15 years of building, this was...

As with Sandy Bridge, the current Ivy Bridge i5's are an incredibly good value: impressive performance at stock speeds, ample overclocking headroom on air, and reasonably priced to boot. The i7's are obviously a bit better, but the 3570k is not unlike...

The fan on the stock HSF unit was defective. Really. Another friend of mine who ordered at the same time had the same issue, so perhaps this is indicative of a bad batch from Intel's Orbiting HQ? I won't dock an egg for this, since the proc itself is...

Class

Probably the best gaming processor to get. Sure the i7 is out there, but with this K version, this bad boy overclocks like a beast. Hardly puts out heat. You pay the price for a GREAT processor

for the ones that can't afford it.... I'm sorry

OC'ed to 4.2 GHz on air.

Overclocks well ; Low TDP ; Cheap for performance

A+

Upgraded to this from an AMD Quad core, which ran very hot and loud with a stock heatstink

Runs very cool and quiet even with all the power you really need for a desktop. Wonderful choice. Runs great even with stock heatsink

Great value

This is a great processor for the money. It runs fast and cool, and will likely handle any needs shy of intense video editing. I have not overclocked it yet, so I cannot comment on that, but running stock, even with the stock fan, it stays cool and...

The heatsink would be insufficient for overclocking, but if you are overclocking, you are likely purchasing your own anyways
