Compact form factor.

Core i3 holds back both the graphics performance and also affects system responsiveness.

Intel NUC offers a legitimate alternative to the desktop PC however we feel that Core i5 performance makes a worthwhile contribution compared to this Core i3.

Much better than the NUC5PPYH

Intel is certainly THE big name brand but I think I would try one of the alternative manufacturers next time. MSI looks like they have a nice product and I'd probably choose one of those next time. I took off a start just because I'm still recovering...

Excellent small, quiet computer to handle everyday computing, home office, light gaming, and Home Theater use. Comes with mounting bracket for fixing to back of TV or computer monitor. Lower price now that it's been around a little while.

Not universally compatible with all Operating Systems, but these days that's true of most computers you can buy.

Great mini-PC; small, quiet, and powerful

Using this as a small HTPC, connected to a NAS in another room. Works great in that function. Would imagine it would work very well as a desktop for a light user (web, email, etc) as well.

Seriously tiny. Lots of power for what it is--would have no issues using this as a desktop for light usage. Quiet. Ubuntu worked fine on it out of the box.

Installed Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop LTS. It kept freezing the OS. Determined it was caused by UEFI. Upgraded BIOS from Aug 2015 to Dec 2015 and issue disappeared. Running Kodi with HDHomeRun and other Kodi addons. Worked as expected. Initially used USB...

Able to handle 2 harddrives, AC wifi, 4K or 3 monitor support, low power Kodi HTPC 1080 video streaming was using about 10-20% CPU with network performance of 5-8MB/s throughput. Box has a small fan which you can hear if you put your ear to the box....

None. Works as expected. See other thoughts for resolving issues found.

Great ubuntu box!

You really can't go wrong with this. I'd question the extra $100 required to get an i5 unless you really know you want it, as that money will get you 8gb ram and a 120gb ssd.

I plugged in a keyboard and mouse (keyboard acts as a USB 3.0 hub), a mini displayport to HDMI adapter, and a bootable USB 2.0 thumb drive with Ubuntu. It all worked flawlessly out of the box! It was the easiest system installation I've ever had ;...
