Lenovo IdeaCentre A700 review: Lenovo IdeaCentre A700

We've seen lots of all-in-ones with questionable value lately, but the Lenovo IdeaCentre A700 40244CU is a particularly egregious offender. It's an expensive system at $1,249, and considering its slow performance and lack of a Blu-ray drive, we're not...

Clean design; plentiful, media-friendly inputs and outputs; useful and unobtrusive array of external system controls.

Slow general performance for its price; no Blu-ray drive.

The Lenovo IdeaCentre A700 40244CU comes in an attractive, thoughtfully designed package, but overall it lacks substance given its high price tag. Only buy if you put a premium on looks and external device compatibility.

Despite its good looks, the A700 can't compete with cheaper all-in-one PCs that are speedier and offer a more fitting feature mix.

Pleasing, compact design, Rich in ports, Huge hard drive, Midrange Radeon card a step up from integrated graphics, Booming audio

Pricey, Some cheaper all-in-ones offer better application performance, No Blu-ray drive

I got a lemon!!

Got a great deal the weekend of Thanksgiving. This thing worked great for 3 days and the whole family loved the touchscreen and other functions. Then, mysteriously stopped working after 3rd day. (Dark blue screen with blinking cursor) After much time...

looks great, sharp graphics, great sound

a little slower than I expected from such a new machine with a faster processor. Really not much faster than my 8 yr. old Dell

Nice System but..

It's got almost everything you can imagine. HDMI out, cable tv card, lots of ram, etc

My display died after 5 months. Still waiting on Lenovo to get a replacement/fix. I've owned 5 of the gateway all in ones with no failures

Strong retail all-in-one

I was a little disappointed by the bluetooth keyboard and mouse. If it was my computer, I would definitely look to purchasing better ones. Ditch the screen saver when you get it. A computer that starts making noise when its been idle for a while makes...

A good retail-oriented product for the the general public. I bought this unit for my parents, who are retired, as a replacement for their current 8 year old computer. This unit will definitely work well for their needs for the next 8 years ; 1. No...

1. Keyboard layout is non-standard ; 2. Bluetooth keyboard and mouse is dependent on where you place the receiver, and sometime the mouse movement seems a bit sporadic ; 3. The Lenovo screen saver includes sound

Great Multimedia All-in-One PC

Optical drive is slimline SATA, expandable memory to 8gb, CPU can be swapped out, but ATI graphics is part of motherboard. I have since swapped out the 4GB ddr for 8Gb ddr (2x sticks) and installed a 4x Blu-Ray burner with PowerDVD 10 ultra

Full multimedia capable all-in one PC, seemless operation of touchscreen, minimal bloatware, HD TV tuner, HDMI in and out, 1TB 7200RPM 3.5 HDD. 1080P LED LCD

Mobile I7 CPU, IR remote instead of Bluetooth, intermittent Bluetooth signal interrupts, no Blu-Ray drive

Excellent All In One PC

System was very easy to setup. You have to first bond the keyboard and mouse during the first boot up. Once up and running, system worked fine. Touchscreen is responsive, and there are also some simple finger "Flicks" to manipulate browsing pages and...

Intel I7 QM cpu with Turbo, DDR3 1333mhz memory, ATI 5650 graphics, HDMI in and out, 1080p Led LCD touchscreen, 1TB hard drive, Bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse, JBL built-in speakers. Allows for wall mounting also if needed with IR remote. S/PDIF...

Mobile processor, not desktop I7 cpu, IR remote, not Bluetooth. No Blu-Ray drive, DVD±RW burner only. Very intermittent Bluetooth mouse signal interruption for a few seconds (maybe the Lenovo mouse itself, changed to a Microsoft 5000 Bluetooth mouse...

Lenovo IdeaCentre A700 - truly an All-in-One Computer! ”

If you are looking for a computer that truly has it all, check out the Lenovo Idea Centre A700.  First of all, it is so clean and sleek in design, that it looks like a high-end TV.  With wireless keyboard and mouse, there is only one cord to hook up,...

Lenovo IdeaCentre A700 works well for me ”

We are quite out of space. So Lenovo IdeaCentre A700 PC works well for us. It's compact, in that it only needs the screen space. (and the keyboard and mouse of course). We really like that.
