Lenovo ThinkCentre M58 review

Lenovo primarily makes PCs for business, and the M58 is no exception. It's covered by a generous three-year onsite warranty, which is great for this price.

Lenovo produces another solid, high-spec business PC. Jonathan Bray puts it through its paces.

Great basic pc!

I upgrade the ram to this kit from newegg "G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)" the speed is outside the spec for this little mobo but it down grades it to run at the speed supported. I installed the sticks...

Price, for only $73 bucks with free shipping this is a great deal. It supports a max of 8 gigs of ram 2x4 and comes with windows 7 pro 64bit that you can upgrade to Windows 10 pro 64bit. don't waist your time trying to get the windows 7 updates just go...

Decent Computer

Purchased this for my family business. Windows 7 pro was important for remote access for troubleshooting the network if there ever is an issue.

Good price considering it has Windows 7 Professional!

Outdated hardware. I paid $71 for this on cyber monday, so I am not complaining, considering the windows license is worth $140 alone.

it works

Maybe the motherboard in this computer is too old model to accept the latest memory... so please try to look for old type of memory if you are planning to buy this and upgrade... Overall, for the price, I have no complains.

The computer works, I bought it because it had genuine Windows in it, and the price itself is cheaper than a fresh copy of Windows. So I should not have any complain in terms of price, it's a great buy. You get to get the case, keyboard, and a mouse...

Also I bought G SKILL 8GB memory to install on this computer, which is 4GB X 2, but somehow the motherboard in this computer does not accept it. The computer does work with the original "no-name brand" memory it came with inside, but when I put in the...

You Get What You Pay For, But That's Not a Bad Thing.

The computer functions in the most basic, slow manner, which is to be expected. Considering it was purchased as a cheapo, quick fix replacement for a gaming desktop that croaked, I really can not complain. It was purchased simply to fill the gap for...

Definitely a bargain in a pinch. The price of a replacement hard drive for a refurbished desktop including mouse, keyboard and shipping is certainly a great deal. The product arrived quickly and was packed very well. Everything is functional.

The product functions as expected, but nothing more. This is not really a "con" considering the price point, but I had hoped it might surprise me.

Second Look

Initially I use Adata 2Gb X 4 which works fine. I also tried Hyper X Kingstons 4Gb since upgrade to Win 10, and pairs work fine, 2 or 4 sticks. Either show 6-6-6-15-1t timings. And they now show at 800 same as the FSB. The battery is something I rarely...

Since the upgrade to Win 10 Pro 64 (FREE), It has the ability to use 4 Gb sticks of ram. (Just FYI)

There was a normal learning curve with a new machine after loading a new O/S. But the bugs turned out to be a low Bios battery. Just keep that in mind in case their (Joy Systems) tray had some duds in it.

Add memory and watch it fly.

E5700 dual core Intel, @ 3 Ghz. Motherboard says it will accept Core 2 Quad's also, up to 1333 fsb. New looking WD250 hdd, with restore partition, that works! No dust or residual tells it had been used. 4 memory slots, easy to fill. (DDR3) Defaults to...

This has been a real adventure. The memory will work well up to "2 gb" sticks x 4 = 8 gb, any other configuration was problematic. It required the initial boot from the restore partition. Enter the key and run updates. I did use Macrium Reflect "free"...

Needed to start from Restore partition, could has been a fluke, I tried additional memory configurations before starting.

Perfect solution

Needed a 32bit PC for some older software I can't afford to upgrade to 64bit versions. This fit the bill perfectly. Runs fast and even was upgradeable to Windows 10. Runs a max of 4gb of memory, extra stick was easy to install since the chassis just...
