Lenovo ThinkCentre M58e

Lenovo updates a solid choice for business with ... another solid choice: the ThinkCentre M58e.

Tower configuration gives the system lots of expansion space. Decent price. Good performance numbers. Environmentally friendly.

Tower takes up a lot of desk or floor space. Perhaps more corporate-oriented than small-business-oriented. Not available in ultra-small form factor.

Terrible Dissappointment

Speedy delivery, arrived with all components as advertised

Out of the box, the machine did not function. The included USB keyboard and mouse were recognized by the motherboard but not the Windows 7 Installer. I have been struggling for the past 90 minutes to see if I can manage some sort of work-around ; So...

Great for some purposes

As others have said Get the windows activation Code off the side before assembling. Also the 125 or so Win 7 updates, takes a while to install.

Good price to performance, 80 bucks on sale, with free shipping. Web surfing, word processing and watching Videos. Win 7 activation was easy and accurate. Very quiet machine

Some of the features are Non-standard such as the pin out on the power supply. No free memory slots as they are filled. No PATA for adding 'old' hard drives. Should it fail, unlikely to return, will just scrap it out for parts

Geat Computer

A good buy for the money, but what do you expect for $90.00?

Great computer for the money, only a few problems at start-up, but one phone call to Lenovo and it was resolved

They could have loaded it with Windows 7 Pro instead of home premium, needs more ram and a bigger hard drive

Good PC, bad hard drive

If you can get it on sale, it is a good deal, even if you end up replacing a part or two. You can't just return the defective part; you have to return the entire PC. If you know what is wrong with it, it may be cheaper to replace it yourself than to...

I paid $89 w/free s&h during a holiday sale, which made it a bargain

The hard drive died within two weeks. The hard drive had over 40,000 power-on hours when I received the computer

extremely slow write speed, slow read speed

A good buy

Original version of windows 7 is installed. Right off the bat there are 172 updates that windows will want to download. I suggest that you download the "system update readiness tool" from Microsoft first thing. Then download and install about 25...

Good, fast machine with windows 7 installed. But, be prepared to do a lot of work before it is ready to use. After you are done with all the updates and changes in the bios set up utility, you will have a great, inexpensive computer. There is no...

A lot of work getting it ready for use. But, it is worth it

ThinkCentre M58e(7298C6U) Core 2 Duo E7400(2.80GHz) 2GB DDR2 160GB Intel GMA 4500 Windows XP Professional

I upgraded it to win 7 and had some driver issues with the NIC.

Cheap and pretty fast

Decent

You aren't going to find anything better for $400, or maybe even $500 with an OS. Great buy if you are just looking for something basic.

Cheap ; One of the few pc's that come with XP native without having to downgrade ; Very decent as far as speed/performance goes ; Cheap

Let's face it, this computer is really ugly ; The bundled software is annoying, but not as bad as IBM usually is
