An abomination on the market

You would be shocked at how much failed Netgear equipment I've accumulated just personally, by myself, for my own household, over the last six years. Netgears & Belkins failed left to right - I just thought it was normal for routers to die 7 days after...

These units NEVER work out of the box. NO PROS. Do not buy

I have ordered over three of these cheap cards for simple installs over the last year or so. The first one was for a personal machine. It was awful getting it to work with Win7, but I got it working (not well, but eh.) It died in about two months. Serves

Works in my XP Pro machine, Good Performance.

This wireless card worked with my newer XP machine, but not with my older one. I recieved a refurbished on from eBay and did not come with a Driver Disc. I just went over to Netgear's site, downloaded the drivers, installed them and Bingo, it...

It immediatley connected to my network, required no skill to install and set up

Doesn't work well with very old computers

Excellent Card DISREGARD NEGETIVE STATEMENTS!!

This is by far one of the best wireless cards I have had. I've been through several companies looking for a good quality Wireless card for playing Half-Life2: DeathMatch, and Counter-Strike: Source. This card is reletively lagg free, with excellent...

This card works excellent! I am using it right this second, and I am in my basement, where I keep my PC in a cool environment. My router is upstairs, and this card works great! I am running at max

Not your average card... No real "Cons" other than not being fairly rated by people! Excellent card, EVEN FOR GAMING

Does not work with XP Home

XP Home Software installation from the CD seems normal. After powering down, installing PCI adapter card, & restarting machine, prompt to select region followed by a legal disclaimer and !BAM!, blue screen and system reboot. After talking to Netgear...

none...this adapter is garbage

Had to buy another adapter

AWFUL PRODUCT

I have 3 of these PCI cards and I cant get any of them to work with XP SP2. Netgear support aren't interested, they just 'fix' them and send them back. Don't buy this product.

There aren't any

Blue screen when installing

I used to like Netgear

Nice documentation

I have a Netgear rouer (my third) and two laptop cards and they are all great. This one bites however. I suspect it's a XP/SP2 issue, but back to Best Buy it went. Went through the install as outlined in the brochure (and I've installed lots of cards). Fi

Dont Use for XP

OK with Win2K, reliable

Original drivers will cause a system reboot cycle with XP...even latest drivers cause unworkable DHCP problems...dont use with XP

It takes a lot of work to get this thing to operate.

Cheap; I was able to get a 20.00 rebate at Best Buy, final cost: 29.99. When it works, it functions well with my Linksys wireless cable gateway

It will not consistently work. I had to update the driver online to get it to work on my XP sys w/sp2, however after one day of trouble free use, it began dropping the signal. When I tried uninstalling their proprietery software, my computer would hang

PC hangs

Easy to install and it works occasionally

1) PC repeatedly hangs. Need to hit the power button. 2) Need to be XP administrator to get the card working. Once logged in with admin priviledges then other users can use it 3) Netgear support not much use 4) 128bit WEP doesn't work

Consumer review by:

Almost usless to install.

At the moment I cannot come up with any reason to buy this card. The connectivity is HORRIBLE, what use are any other features if it doesn't connect

The price was OK and I am using a Netgear router. I figured staying with the same manufacture was a good idea. This card has been nothing but a headache after 2 weeks. The ability to connect seems to come and go at random and frequent drops when succes
