Polywell Ignition X7900i-3960: Top-Shelf Hardware at a Top-Shelf Price

The Polywell Ignition X7900i-3960 boasts powerful hardware in an imposing package. But it certainly spares no expense, at $4599 (as of February 1, 2012). Does the cost add up? Let's find out.

Packed with top-shelf hardware ; Plenty of speedy storage

Expensive

The Polywell Ignition X7900i-3960 comes packed with every performance PC lover's dream parts, but carries a rather steep price.

Both the side panels eschew thumbscrews in favor of a key-and-knob locking mechanism. The knob is found on either side of the rear panel: Turn it one way to free the panel, which you can then just pull away; turn it back the other way to secure it...

Excellent performance. Outstanding selection of preinstalled hardware

Not the fastest performer out there. No factory overclocking. Few USB 3.0 ports

The Polywell Poly Ignition X7900i-3960 is a terrifically powerful desktop, but not quite the fastest Core i7-3960X PC you can buy.
