Great graphics workstation

The user complaining about less than 4GB of ram available in XP is not too bright. How is it Dell's fault that he chose to use a 32 bit operating system incapable of fully utilizing 4GB of ram? If you need above 3GB or so of ram then you need to use a...

Modular, easy to upgrade, extremley fast depending on your configuration and what you use it for.

Limited bios options - would be nice to try to overclock but honestly for business use that I have stability is much more important. Very large.

Memory is a problem with XP 32

XP 32 is not recommended - but some are stuck with it.

Fast, as long as memory is not a problem. In Excel 2007 speed drops to 2 or even only one processor if it is, at which point you are better off with a Pentium D.

Out of 4 GB installed RAM, only 3.19 GB is available under XP 32 bit - a little secret Dell isn't advertising. This is worse than a $1200 GX620! Maybe a smaller graphics card could help.

Extreme Machine

I bought one with two 15K drives in RAID 0. Unbelieveable speed.

Super quiet, super fast.

Everything we hoped it would be.

Get the SAS 10k or 15k HDDs - on this system the only potential bottleneck would be the HDDs. Gold support rocks!

Can't think of any. Well, not that we lift these all day long ; P ...but they are heavy
