No SD slot opening

 

Do not know yet, still waiting for CPU, memory and SSD

There is no cutout in the plastic covering front metal panel for the SD card. SD card connector is present on the board, and under the front panel plastic there is an opening in the metal ; Wrong face plate

I purchased multiple units with the expectation that they would have SD card readers. Some units came with readers, but others did not. There is no distinction in model numbers between the two variants. Disappointing

Loaded it with 16GB recommended Kingston memory, Intel 4690S i5 65W Haswell quad-core CPU and Samsung 850 EVO 500GB mSata SSD. Could have stepped up the CPU to the 4790S i7 but just couldn't justify the extra cost. Then installed Fedora 22 Workstation...

Good construction, very quiet, easy build, pick your CPU, plenty of connections. Makes a very capable mini-workstation

Only niggle is no rear panel audio output, front only

Slightly disappointed.

 

I should have done more research into the compatibility of this hardware with the software I intended to use on it before purchasing. If you intend to run Windows or a popular Linux distro, this box will probably work great for you.

I thought I was going to have to buy a low profile CPU cooler, but I didn't realize until it was shipped to my front door that it had integrated cooling built in. I know I saw that somewhere on the description, but it slipped my mind.
