Sony VAIO TP1 Living Room PC ( Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83GHz, 2GB RAM, 300GB HDD, Vista Home Premium)

As Sony's products are often described, the $1,600 VAIO TP1 Living Room PC is a unique, attractive system that is underpowered and overpriced. It suffers from some unfortunate technical quirks and is more laden with shovelware than any PC we've...

Unique design; nice selection of home theater PC features.

Overpriced compared to other PCs of similar power and capabilities; overloaded with shovelware.

Sony's distinctive, midrange VAIO TP1 Living Room PC trades performance and features for its cutesy appearance. Unless you really like the looks of this Roomba-like PC you can find a much better deal from a variety of standard desktop PCs.

Sony Vaio VGX-TP1

The Sony VAIO VGX-TP1 is certainly eye-catching: This white-gray circle looks more like a stand to place something on than a PC. But a PC it is, and it's meant to fit unobtrusively into your living room, your bedroom, or any other room where you want...

Whisper-quiet operation ; Eye-catching, circular design

Sony VAIO TP1 Living Room PC – underpowered and overpriced

$1600 priced Sony VAIO TP1 Living Room PC is an attractive round-shape desktop that is overpriced and underpowered. Sony calls it a Home Theater PC and designed it for average performance only. The TP1 suffers from few technical quirks and overloaded...

Nice selection of home theater computer features; unique round design

Overloaded with shovelware; overpriced as compared to its competitors

: The Sony VAIO TP1 Living Room PC is overpriced for its common mid-range features and cutesy appearance. We will not recommend this computer to purchase because you can get similar features in less $1000. If you are a big fan of its Roomba like shape...

Sony VAIO VGX-TP1

Sony's stylish VGX-TP1 raises the bar for low-cost entertainment PCs—but it isn't built to handle much besides media-manipulation chores.

Unobtrusive design; lots of extra features for its price

Can't handle much beyond Media Center tasks; quirky Wi-Fi-antenna setup

Double your display real estate by adding a second monitor. It's a snap: Here's how

Sony VAIO TP1E

Sony can safely claim to be one of the leading manufacturers when it comes to the art of the media centre PC. Its name is synonymous with style, and the sleek, neatly integrated machines that pass through Computer Buyer's labs from time to time are a...

PC or pie? Make your mind up, Sony. Reasonably capable and fairly priced, but the wow factor is skin deep.

"Newer "flavor" is much better"

I wish Cnet would revisit this PC for review. I LOVE the form factor and look. It does everything we bought it for...lets us surf the Internet, do email, record shows, enjoy digital photos on big screen, etc. This one does have Blu-ray, better...

Fits perfect in our family room entertainment armoire. Does everything we wanted it to do. Seems fast to me.

Little pricey (but pleased with purchase)

"Great looking little PC - just overpriced"

Although the VAIO TP1 is over priced it's great looking - and the circular shape makes it unique. The keyboard is great looking although I found the enter key a little hard to press. Vista and Intel VIIV top it off and 2GB of RAM is surprising for such...

Small form factor, great looks, keyboard, no Blu-Ray, RAM

Priced too high

"Kind of cool, but they miss the whole computing point"

What is this? if sony keep making products like this, i won't like them anymore. But last, and not least it's really cool looking, with a sweet processor. But i'll won't buy it. while i can get maximum power, advance gaming system, from an HP/voodoo for...
