Sony VAIO RB44G (P4 640 3.2 GHz)

The $1,650 Sony VAIO RB44G is another fixed-configuration media PC from the midrange Sony RB series . With the same case as the Sony VAIO VGC-RB38G we covered back in March, the RB44G introduces 64-bit processing to the RB line by way of its 3.2GHz...

Clean appearance; versatile set of video inputs and outputs; strong core PC components; room for more hard drives; worthy support.

With no front-panel audio ports and no sound card, audio goes neglected; a dual-core CPU would handle multimedia better than the included single-core 64-bit chip.

This is a solid home-theater PC with basic features, but if you're finicky about audio, you'll want a more configurable system.

"Good system for entry into Multi-media, PC for TV, DVD, and music."

This PC works great for watching TV, and recording TV, editing and burning video from Sony DVD camcorder, organizing music and photo files and home office and high school/college computing functions. Price from CompUSA was outstanding value for speed...

Power, speed, and variety of functions for affordable price with user friendly setup.

Tiny speakers included are a waste. Had to immediately upgrade.
