Great little server

I have been running pfSense on this server for awhile now and it's been great. I have had no problems and it has been running 24/7 since I got it. I averages 35c and is pretty quite ; Setting it up was pretty easy except I had to buy a bracket to hold...

Perfect Hyper-V Cluser Server

As a smaller IT firm building out our datacenter, these servers have worked well and will allow for future growth.

First and foremost the ability to view/access the entire boot process including BIOS and RAID configuration via the IPMI java console is priceless. Dell requires iDRAC Enterprise for the same features at a cost of $100s ; The mother board is perfect...

Super Micro requires that both power supplies are powered or it beeps. When configuring the server in an office environment this generates excess noise that really isn't needed when setting up the server ; Also still working out how to properly...

Great for pfSense and more...

In general, I love SuperMicro servers for their value as compared to other vendors. I have their Atom C2000 based server as well and they are great. This was no exception. It's perfect for a custom solution such as firewalls, infrastructure servers...

1. Extremely efficient ; 2. Intel NICs ; 3. Does support 8Gb of RAM ; 4. IPMI ; 5. Great chassis

1. Heats up quickly if kept in a rack ; 2. Power supply fan can be noisy for some people

Great server!

Great 1U Atom server! The power supply fan is super silent

This server was listed for $299 a week ago and I was planing to buy 3 of them. Then NewEgg decides to jack up the price $100. Ended up buying the parts separately (from newegg) and putting it together myself for $300

Great pfsense Rig

Works great as a low power server. Heat may be an issue, but I don't know for sure as I have it in a air conditioned room.

Low power, stable, 1U form factor

Do not buy the Bundle!

Good little system for basic services

I bought the bundle with this chassis. a Samsung SSD and 4 GB of memory. I assumed this configuration had been verified however when I received it I got 1 4GB RAM chip. I installed it and just recieved a long beep. After reviewing the Supermicro...

Great Little Firewall/Server

Don't forget that it needs this part in order to mount hard drives: Depending upon your deployment, it may also need a fan to blow on the drives and/or CPU. You will likely end up gluing...

Light, small, Linux compatible RAID, IPMI

It's touchy with memory, so if you turn it on and it screeches at you, just try different memory and you should be OK. Getting the Adaptec RAID to work with Linux is slightly less intuitive than you might think simply because it actually shows the RAID...

Great little server

I really love Supermicro 1U servers and this one has all the great features you expect from them.

Dual CPU, redundant power supply, lots of memory, comes with heatsinks, works with Ubuntu server

Stupid Supermicro management tool that takes a separate DHCP address even if you don't want it
