This year's Velocity Micro Vector Campus Edition is a reliable and reasonably priced general-purpose midrange desktop with quick performance, decent features, and a space-saving design.

Good performance. Compact case. Plenty of storage.

The Velocity Micro Vector Z35 is an ideal midrange desktop, with a well-made, easy-access case and the power and versatility to serve as a home office PC, media center, or gaming rig.

Nice price. Excellent performance. Sleek case that allows for easy upgrades and maintenance. Discrete graphics. Plenty of storage.

Lacks integrated Wi-Fi.

The Velocity Vector Z25 is a midrange desktop of the old school. It has multimedia and 3D gaming chops, all for a sub-$1,000 price tag.

Robust graphics performance. Some expansion space.

The Velocity Micro Vector Holiday Edition is a powerful multimedia machine, built to both game and chew through productivity applications.

Powerful components for the price. Includes Blu-ray combo drive, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi. Chassis looks good, is easy to service.

With its high-end performance and (relatively) low price, the Velocity Micro Vector Holiday Edition is an excellent choice for PC enthusiasts.

Overclocked power leads to benchmark prowess. Lots of internal and external expansion. Blu-ray. 3D powerhouse. USB 3.0 and eSATA ports.

Internal expansion requires a screwdriver. Plain-looking stock CPU cooler.

The Velocity Micro Vector Z20 is a decent alternative to the major manufacturers, especially if you consider its gaming prowess.

Blazing performance numbers, including games. HDMI port. Large hard drive. Blu-ray reader. Included programs, such as 12 months of Norton AntiVirus, aren't preinstalled. Large hard drive.

Pricey for mainstream segment. No wireless networking.
