Viewsonic VSD220

The Viewsonic VSD220 ($399 list) may look like a typical desktop monitor, but there's nothing typical about this 22-inch touch display. Dubbed the Smart Display, it's actually part all-in-one (AIO) PC, part tablet, and part desktop monitor. The VSD220...

Reasonably priced. Good color and text reproduction. Energy efficient

Quirky touch screen. Weak grayscale performance. Narrow viewing angles

The Viewsonic VSD220 is a unique 22-inch monitor that doubles as a standalone Android-powered All-In-One. It does a decent job in both roles but is not without flaws.

ViewSonic VSD220

This smart display has the sizzle, but lacks the steak

The ViewSonic VSD220 bills itself as an “all-in-one” smart display: part TV, part monitor, part tablet. While it sounds great at first, the truth about the VSD220 is that it’s 75% potential, 25% execution.

Viewsonic VSD220 review

A monitor-come-Android-tablet combo for all your computing needs?

Built-in Android tablet functionality ; Supports Windows 8 touch ; Decent TN panel and image quality

Performance in Android tablet mode is very poor ; App support is patchy ; Needs an operating system update

The Viewsonic VSD220 Smart Display has an awful lot going for it. £330 might be a lot for a 22-inch PC monitor. But when you factor in the Android functionality along with support for Windows 8 touch, it's a compelling package.

ViewSonic VSD220 Android monitor review

The VSD220 two things. First, it's a monitor - which is obvious, you can tell that just by looking at it. Second, it's an Android-powered all-in-one computer - which isn't obvious, and would be hard to tell by looking at it.

A nice monitor, decent number of sockets, cables for HDMI to micro-HDMI and USB supplied

Android feels slow, low-spec Android hardware, poor app support, too expensive

It's a nice enough 1080p monitor, although the mini-HDMI will be a bind for some

Viewsonic VSD220 Smart Display review

The Viewsonic VSD220 is quite unlike anything we've seen before. Its Smart Display moniker implies it's a simple monitor, the VSD220's home hub defines itself as a tablet, but it's actually a 22in all-in-one PC that's powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream...

An ambitious idea, but this Android-powered all-in-one PC fails to make an impression

ViewSonic VSD220 Smart Display review

After spending some time with it, it's hard not to like the VSD220 Smart Display immensely. We can really see that ViewSonic is on to something here, and it helps to think of it not so much as a cheap second PC, as the future of TVs outside the lounge....

ViewSonic VSD220 Smart Display Review

ViewSonic's VSD220 Smart Display is a great first stab at a smart display let down only by occasional laggy performance and the fact that better is likely on the horizon

ViewSonic VSD220 Smart Display – overviewAs much as we love our smartphones and tablets and are happy to race headlong into the post-PC era, there's one part of the traditional desktop that is going

ViewSonic VSD220 review

ViewSonic is the first manufacturer to launch an accredited Google Mobile Services (GMS) all-in-one (AIO) personal computer (PC). More simply known as the ViewSonic VSD220.

If you’re willing to abandon Windows or Mac OS and conduct your day-to-day work on a mega-size Android tablet, the ViewSonic VSD220 is a classy take on what may well be a new desktop genre. If you expect to work on it with more than occasional typing,...

ViewSonic VSD220 Smart Display

A monitor that runs Android, making it an ultra-affordable all-in-one computer.

Versatile and a lot of fun, A cheap route to an AIO PC, Healthy feature set

Display quality is so-so, Such a large touchscreen can feel awkward
