MSI Wind CS120

The MSI Wind CS120, though a small, Atom-powered desktop, has some non-nettop features such as Windows XP, a DVD burner, and a desktop-class hard drive.

Small-form-factor PC. Runs Windows. Quiet. Doesn't use much energy. DVD burner. Full-size 160GB hard drive.

Only 1GB of RAM. No mouse or keyboard. Weak 3D graphics. Can't run most of our benchmark tests. No Internet security software included. Physically larger, so as to fit its internal components.

Perfect

300 range, can't be beat. Not looking to run heavy apps, just browse web, check email, process some documents. Set your expectations there and you'll be more than satisfied. *Highly* recommended.

Low cost, easy setup, decent speed, runs XP

Loud

built in wifi

It's loud, and fan is tied to processor, so it goes fast and slow which is really irritating ; can't really handle HD youtube videos

Awesome!

This thing works great! It's small, fast for what it's needed for, and fits on a shelf in my desk

Need another one

Good for office power saving, bad for home power saving

For a large office with dozens of PCs this could save a lot of money, but for the home user it probably won't save more than $60 a year

I received an email from MSI saying this thing would save $350 in energy costs. A bit skeptical, I looked at their figures: 265w PC on 24/7 at 0.15/kwh. Well I know my utility company is only 0.09/kwh, so the question is how much does a average PC...

MSI Wind Nettop CS120 Intel Atom 230 (1.6GHz) 1GB DDR2 160GB Intel GMA 950 Windows XP Home - Retail

First unit had to be RMA'd because of a bad video output. Have had no problems with second unit.

Great price, SFF, looks great and works like it's supposed to

The fan could be quieter but so is life

Perfect for lite SOHO use.

Disk partitions may throw some off: 40GB on the primary 120GB on secondary. Dimensions (LxWxD) are roughly 12"x2.625"x11". For her, the small form factor is a plus to keep the desk uncluttered.

Essentially a small PC with laptop guts. I purchased this to replace my wife's 6+ year old WinXP 'puter. She'll use it for Office apps, browsing, and remote desktop to occasionally work from home. Installed quickly. Used Wireless G network connection....

Using the case as a monitor stand, the occasional fan noise can be a bit much. To address this it may be relocated to our desk's enclosed cpu cabinet

Being realistic...

This is a NETtop, though a bit bigger and with more than you get out of most. (Optical drive, surround sound) That being said it's far from a powerhouse. I got this because at this point I'm not doing much cpu intensive on my main machine at all and...

Very easy to open, no seals to break in the process either. All hardware is 100% linux compatible out of the box. A very nice and quiet small desktop. Just what I wanted really

It's about as quiet as a Mac mini. Meaning that when it's fairly idle or under a light work load it's going to be deathly silent, but once your workload gets heavy you will know it's there. It's still much quieter than a stadard case would be by far....
