MSI Wind CS120

The CS120 is a quiet PC. After a quick burst of noise from the cooling fan when you power the system, the fan slows down and remains quiet while you use the system. The Atom 230 processor, which is designed for low-power usage and light-duty tasks, is...

Small-form-factor PC. Runs Windows. Quiet. Doesn't use much energy. DVD burner. Full-size 160GB hard drive

Only 1GB of RAM. No mouse or keyboard. Weak 3D graphics. Can't run most of our benchmark tests. No Internet security software included. Physically larger, so as to fit its internal components

Cheap, quiet, and power efficient, the MSI fulfills the role of Web terminal, plus it runs Windows so you can use those old programs that you must still run. Just don't expect it to keep up with your "real" desktop or laptop.

Perfect

300 range, can't be beat. Not looking to run heavy apps, just browse web, check email, process some documents. Set your expectations there and you'll be more than satisfied. *Highly* recommended.

Low cost, easy setup, decent speed, runs XP

Loud

built in wifi

It's loud, and fan is tied to processor, so it goes fast and slow which is really irritating ; can't really handle HD youtube videos

This thing works great! It's small, fast for what it's needed for, and fits on a shelf in my desk

Need another one

Good for office power saving, bad for home power saving

For a large office with dozens of PCs this could save a lot of money, but for the home user it probably won't save more than $60 a year

I received an email from MSI saying this thing would save $350 in energy costs. A bit skeptical, I looked at their figures: 265w PC on 24/7 at 0.15/kwh. Well I know my utility company is only 0.09/kwh, so the question is how much does a average PC...

MSI Wind Nettop CS120 Intel Atom 230 (1.6GHz) 1GB DDR2 160GB Intel GMA 950 Windows XP Home - Retail

First unit had to be RMA'd because of a bad video output. Have had no problems with second unit.

Great price, SFF, looks great and works like it's supposed to

The fan could be quieter but so is life

Perfect for lite SOHO use.

Disk partitions may throw some off: 40GB on the primary 120GB on secondary. Dimensions (LxWxD) are roughly 12"x2.625"x11". For her, the small form factor is a plus to keep the desk uncluttered.

Essentially a small PC with laptop guts. I purchased this to replace my wife's 6+ year old WinXP 'puter. She'll use it for Office apps, browsing, and remote desktop to occasionally work from home. Installed quickly. Used Wireless G network connection....

Using the case as a monitor stand, the occasional fan noise can be a bit much. To address this it may be relocated to our desk's enclosed cpu cabinet

Being realistic...

This is a NETtop, though a bit bigger and with more than you get out of most. (Optical drive, surround sound) That being said it's far from a powerhouse. I got this because at this point I'm not doing much cpu intensive on my main machine at all and...

Very easy to open, no seals to break in the process either. All hardware is 100% linux compatible out of the box. A very nice and quiet small desktop. Just what I wanted really

It's about as quiet as a Mac mini. Meaning that when it's fairly idle or under a light work load it's going to be deathly silent, but once your workload gets heavy you will know it's there. It's still much quieter than a stadard case would be by far....

It offers a true noise-free comfort even during heavy game playing or intensive computing applications. To avoid wasting earth resources and reduce environment waste, MSI Wind Nettop Series is powered by the ultra-low-power Intel Atom processors. The thermal power is only 4W which delivers a 16X reduction in power consumption compared to standard desktop processors and 9x reduction in power consumption compared to laptop processors. Save about 90% on Electricity Full Speed Operation at only 35W Built around Intel's Atom processors, the Wind Nettop Series has an excellent electronic circuit design which only consumes 35W at a full speed operation. Compared to a 300W computer, MSI Wind Nettop Series can even save so much electricity and make such a big contribution to the Earth. Everyone can buy a power-saving MSI Wind Nettop Series for long-term use.
