Apple Xserve G5

Apple has upgraded its successful Xserve to the PowerPC G5 platform. Combined with Apple's elegant management software and the new Xserve RAID NAS offering, the Xserve G5 is a powerful server solution for Mac and mixed-OS environments.

Powerful, expandable server system for Mac and mixed environments. Less susceptible than a Windows server to viruses and other attacks. Comprehensive, easy-to-use management software. Quiet. Unlimited client licenses. Xserve RAID attached storage can...

One less drive bay from the previous generation XServe G4, because of cooling concerns. No SATA drives in Xserve RAID

If you have a Mac-heavy or mixed computing environment, the Xserve G5 and Xserve RAID might be the right solution for your company. The overall package presents an elegant alternative to Windows or Linux setups, although you will give up the diversity...

Xserve G5

Apple took a pretty good server, the G4 Xserve, and made it even better. Although some problems remain, the Xserve G5 kicks butt effortlessly and looks good doing it.

OS license included in purchase ; easy administration and monitoring ; works well in mixed environments

Hardware-based RAID not built-in, as is the case with similar Intel-based servers

Apple's design team pulled off the impossible by throwing ten heat sensors and an intelligent fan subsystem into the Xserve case, and by using newly available 90-nanometer PowerPC G5 CPUs from IBM. Apple has also radically changed the server's front...

Super quiet and efficient Mac Mini

My PC seems to hang quite a bit with Photoshop. My friends recommended me to move to Mac. It took me a long time until now to make a move. A decision was wise as I can see it in just one day.

Wicked Fast

Great way to great a powerful Mac for under a grand! I use it with an ASUS HDMI monitor and it looks great. I wish they put a Headphone jack and USB on the front...no big deal but it would be helpful.

Good quiet home computer

Easiest computer setup ever!

After my kids have used mac laptops for a few years, I finally gave in and replaced my old clunker PC laptop with a mac-mini. Its great. Once caveat - packaging and listing should make it clearer that mac doesn\'t come with a \'real\' video cable, only...
