ZOTAC ZBOX AD03BR PLUS: Little Wonder

Desktop computers are required for all kinds of purposes - everything from data entry to gaming. There's a somewhat small market for HTPCs (Home Theater PCs) but there's hardly ever been a product that fits perfectly in that slot.

We think the ZOTAC ZBOX is a very good attempt at building a low-power HTPC solution that you can buy off the shelf. Anyone assembling an HTPC will tell you that finding a board, a compatible chassis and getting them for as cheap as you'd like doesn't...

Zotac ZBox AD03BR Plus

Many home-theater aficionados are technically minded folks who subscribe to a three-letter code of conduct: D-I-Y. As a result, when it comes to configuring a home-theater PC (HTPC), many choose to build their own, instead of purchasing a preconfigured...

Small, sleek ; Blu-ray drive ; User-accessible components ; Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio support ; VESA-mountable

Expensive ; Cramped hard drive ; Poor application performance

Home-theater PCs don't get much smaller than this AMD Fusion-based ZBox, though its diminutive size means paying a premium price and making a few sacrifices.

Zotac Zbox Blu-ray AD03 HTPC Review

Powered by AMD's Fusion/Vision Technology

Excellent form fact, better 3D performance than ION or any Intel Integrated solution

Low 2D scores, slightly noisier than Zotac's previous Zbox Blu-ray

On the specifications side, the Zbox Blu-ray AD03 features a dual core 40nm Zacate CPU that is officially known as E-350 and runs at 1.6GHz with 512K L2 Cache. The integrated GPU that accompanies the E-350 is the Radeon HD 6310 which is DX11 compatible...

Zotac Zbox Blu-ray AD03 Plus

We've seen Zotac's Zbox nettop in Atom form, does a switch to AMD Brazos make it faster?

Brazos doesn't revolutionise the nettop, but this is undoubtedly a stylish and well-rounded little system

WORTH BUYING

ZOTAC ZBOX Bluray AD03 (ZBOX-AD03BR-PLUS-U) Review

Sometimes in this industry, unusual events can occur – such as when AMD partner Sapphire created the Edge HD Mini PC with Intel and Nvidia hardware inside. Zotac are well known as one of Nvidia's most capable partners, but the system we are reviewing...

excellent build quality ; chassis design is gorgeous ; loads of connectivity, including multiple USB 3.0 and a high performance eSATA port ; emits very little noise ; low power drain ; runs cool ; bluray drive

4GB of ram would have been nice ; hard drive isn't fast

KitGuru says: An excellent system build and easily accessed for memory or hard drive upgrades.

Zotac ZBox AD03 BR Plus Mini PC (AMD E350) Review

The Zotac Zbox AD03 BR Plus is one of the first mini-PC we've come across that features AMD's new Fusion APU platform. It's powered by an AMD E-350 dual core processor (aka Zacate using the Bobcat core) running at 1.6Ghz, that comes with built-in...

First htpc

Upgrade the Ram, I'd think with most store bought pc's that is a given. I purchased the Enermax Aurora Wireless Keyboard. For the price $529 from Amazon the no keyboard is still a good deal.

I've been building my own p/c's for some time, (18 yrs) and I've been wanting to build an htpc for as long as I can remember. After pricing all the parts and then finding Zotac's super little Zbox I decided to go with them as my first completely built p.c

Now for the cons, yes there are a couple ; 2 gigs of ram are just not enough, I dropped in 2 Adata sticks to give me 8 gigs ; 250 gig hard drive should be okay for a short time ; No remote or Keyboard
