Zotac ZBOX Nano AD10 Mini PC Review

Final ThoughtsZotac has really put together not only a good looking mini PC, but one that is just as powerful as their ZBOX HD-AD02!  When I first took the ZBOX Nano out of the box I was so surprised at how small it was.  The form factor is just...

Small and stylish form factor, – USB 3.0 and eSATA, – Included media center remote, – Dual IR receivers, – Price

You need an external DVD drive to install Windows drivers so Windows will install

Zotac Zbox nano AD10

Zotac's little PC packs a Fusion APU into a truly tiny chassis. Is it the cheap alternative to a Mac mini?

A neat and compact chassis, and although it isn’t powerful, it's an ideal media PC for the price

AD10 : Packed with Power

I was a bit skeptical about this purchase but for the price, I decided to throw caution to the wind and give it a try. My AD10 came bundled with a *free* 64GB SSD drive, a nice add-in from NewEgg (thank you), and with the price as low as it was, I was...

Compact size ; Great design - ports are easily accessible ; Highly flexible configuration for customization ; Perfect Ubuntu XBMC HTPC

Install AMD Media Codec Package

Folks with playback issues should verify installation of the AMD Media Codec Package (sometimes called 'Avivo'), and check that AMD *UVD* (Universal Video Decoder) is enabled in your media players ; This should address your playback issues except with...

Neat but falls short

I bought a popular dedicated streaming device instead for half the price and it plays Netflix HD flawlessly. The interface and playback is super sharp. My TV recognizes the video output as 1920x1080 60Hz and looks crystal clear. None of the 1080i...

Looks cool. Very small. Lots of features

Netflix playback was terrible (highly pixelated, stuttering). YouTube 1080p would stutter as well. It would not handle a 1080p rip in XBMC either ; I could not get it to look good on my 46" LCD TV. It would show up as 1080i and desktop was really...

Interferes with audio equipment

Looks good on paper

This device caused massive RF interference to some audio equipment I had located in an adjacent cabinet. All my equipment is properly grounded if it is grounded, and otherwise has solid power connections. For some reason this device induced high...

Awesome, but terrible wireless

I use this as an HTPC with the Win7 version XBMC which has been great. If you do not have a wired connection, buy a wireless adapter because the built-in one will not connect at more than 40mb/s even on 802.11n (using a RT-N56U 20 feet away).

Very fast for an HTPC. No problem decoding anything I threw at it (except when connected wirelessly)

Wireless Streaming. The wireless card is absolute garbage, so I just ran wiring to our bedroom

Works Near Perfect

Get the 4GB memory for $20 and a cheap SSD and it a rocket for it's size. Update the the graphics from the AMD site or the display port might not work.

Works perfect as HTPC or a desktop computer for surfing the web or running office. Played every file format I have with no problems. The only thing I will not use it for is rendering videos, that's what my quad core is for

The included WiFi half pci-e/Bluetooth card was a poor choose. I don't use the Bluetooth but WiFi was poor. Got half the signal strength and speed of a normal WiFi card. Swap it out with a Intel 5100 ($9 e--bay) and the strength and speed went to 100

Excellent machine, better than VD01

The AD10 is definately better than the VD01. All the installs went smootly, its definately faster, and the DP compatibility is a definate need. This machine is definately worth the extra $$$ over the VD01.

It is really small. The perfect size I was looking for. The UEFI bios is easy to navigate and looks cool. Runs Windows Vista 64-bit well. Installed easily via SD card using the free wintoflash utility ; Major Pro: the remote control can actually turn...

Haven't been able to get the bluetooth driver to install as of yet, but Zotac doesn't claim Vista compatibility so it might not really be a con

I bought two

I am using one as a Nettop, and another as a HTPC. It has been very solid as a Nettop, that surfs the internet very well. Really shines as a low cost HTPC. I recommend getting the bare bones system and putting in 4GB of memory and a good fast hard...

Very small and very quiet ; Works great as a nettop ; Works great as a HTPC ; Inexpensive, but good value for money

Driver download page is a mess ; Absolutely need to download the most recent drivers ; Wish it had two memory slots
