Casio EX-H30 Review

The Casio EX-H30 is a new travel-zoom camera offering a 12.5x wide-angle zoom lens with a focal length of 24-300mm and CCD-shift image stabilization. The 16 megapixel H30 additionally offers a large 3.0-inch LCD monitor with a resolution of 460,000...

The Casio EX-H30 looks the part for anyone wanting a user-friendly 'travel zoom' with a broader than average focal range; in fact in our opinion its sleek appearance is second only to the Nikon Coolpix S9100, of which this could be considered in some...

Casio Exilim EX-H30 review

Fielding a comparably modest 12.5x optical zoom (24 to 300mm in 35mm terms) supported by CCD-shift stabilisation, the Casio Exilim EX-H30 makes up for its zoom shortcomings with a 16.1Mp CCD (matched in our latest camera group test only by the Olympus...

The Casio looks the part for those wanting a simple-to-operate travel zoom, but doesn’t quite hit the heights of rivals as regards video capability. Still, the pricing feels fair and a 1000-shot battery life is magnificent when away from home....

Casio Exilim EX-H30

The Casio Exilim EX-H30 is a full featured compact that impresses with its image quality despite a few flaws.

Wide range of shutter speeds, Fully featured, Striking image reproduction up to ISO 800

Slow processing time, Some focus hunting, Jarring zoom, Considerable noise beyond ISO 800

Casio Exilim EX-H30 review

The EX-H30 mimics the Nikon's layout, matches the Olympus' spec and apes the Canon's manual features, all at a great price

Long battery life; easy-to-use Slide Panorama feature with good results; quick power up and response; simple operation; can be found for £199

Video less impressive at a ‘mere’ 1,280 x 720 pixels; no HDMI output; mono sound; occasionally confusing menu implementation

The Casio looks the part of an easy-to-use super zoom, but it doesn’t hit the heights of some of its rivals’ video capability. Still, the pricing feels fair and a 1,000-shot battery life is magnificent. Incidentally, the EX-H20G is the Casio model to...
