HP Photosmart R837 review

Budget cameras usually don't offer a lot of options. You can probably find an inexpensive camera that can take decent pictures, but you'll be hard pressed to find one with any flashy gimmicks or stylish design points. HP tries to buck this trend with...

Lots of handy, on-camera editing functions; big LCD screen.

The sliding lens cover feels loose and jams easily; noisy and fringe-filled photos.

The HP Photosmart R837's disappointing image quality makes this otherwise handy, versatile shooter a mediocre model.

HP Photosmart R837

HP's latest ultracompact offers lots of help but its speed and images aren't impressive.

Very low price for an ultracompact camera. Nice design. Easy to use. Good help features.

Some shutter lag. Not enough manual controls. Blew out some highlights in daylight shots.

HP Photosmart R837 Digital Camera Review

Photosmart R837, with an interesting design of the metal and plastic body (the sliding lens cover), lightweight but resistant, is the first HP digital camera to offer HP touch-up for the removal of blemishes (like spots and scars on the faces in...

HP R837 digital camera

The HP R837 is HP's latest digital camera. Announced at PMA in Las Vegas the company has opted to focus on usability rather than megapixel count. But does the point and shoot live up to its claim? We took the camera out to the Grand Canyon to find out....

Pet Fix, Touch-up tool, ability to tag images on the fly, 3-inch LCD screen

Sliding lens cover can get stuck, picture quality is average not excellent

While we wouldn't recommend this camera to those looking for great pictures no matter what the setting, we would recommend it for first time buyers looking for a very consumer friendly model to get them started in the world of digital photography.

A point and shoot capable of some decent shots

This is a great camera for the point-and-shoot user, with ease of use and vibrant shots riding high on its list of positives

HP - Photosmart R837

Choosing your first digital camera in today's market is a bewildering business, as the manufacturers bombard you with impressive sounding statistics and/or provide a seductive exterior to grab your attention. In the case of HP's Photosmart ...

A stylish, inexpensive digital camera for the newcomer that is packed full of outstanding editing features but let down by some unhelpful design flaws and unexceptional picture quality.

HP Photosmart R837

The HP Photosmart R837 is a more adventurous release from HP today. It is a seven megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom and 3.0 inch LCD. What sets it apart is it's sliding lens protector that slides up and down vertically over the lens (most other...
