Samsung NX1

The NX1 delivers very high image and video quality, has a powerful auto focus, and allows for quick settings changes via touchscreen, dedicated buttons and dials. If the EVF and modest lens offerings don't deter you, this mirrorless powerhouse is worth...

Very high image quality ; Burst modes are fast, even in RAW mode ; Touchscreen navigation is convenient ; Lots of controls, including three dials ; Built-in flash is quick to recharge ; Built in NFC, WiFi and Bluetooth ; Tap touchscreen for AF during...

Number of NX mount lenses is limited ; Electronic viewfinder lacks clarity of optical ; EVF and LCD refresh rate can hamper action photography ; Manual focus via EVF is not ideal ; LCD angles only 45 degrees downward ; No iOS smartphone support...

Samsung NX1 Review

Samsung has been pretty inventive in the digital camera world. It was the first to offer an really extensive Wi-Fi system (which continues to this day), Android-based cameras (though Nikon launched a model at about the same time), and arguably the...

Samsung NX1 review

Samsung has been making dSLR-style mirrorless interchangeable-lens models for years, but like many competitors they've suffered from performance issues. The company finally steps up its game with the NX1, a high-performance, high-quality camera that...

The Samsung NX1 is fast, well-designed, weather resistant and feature-packed, and it produces great photos and videos.

There's no charger included, and USB charging takes longer than we'd like. Plus, it could use tracking autofocus when you're shooting via the viewfinder.

Fast, sturdy, well-designed and with excellent photo quality, the Samsung NX1 hits all the bases for action-shooting enthusiasts.

Samsung NX1

The Samsung NX1 has it all: quick focus, 28-megapixel resolution, 4K video, Wi-Fi, and a weather-sealed design. It's our Editors' Choice for high-end mirrorless cameras.

Best-in-class sensor resolution. 15fps continuous shooting. Sharp EVF. Tilting touch-screen LCD. 1/8,000-second shutter. Strong high ISO performance. Weather-sealed design. Monochrome information LCD. Great control layout. Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth...

Burst shooting limited in Raw mode. 4K footage requires transcoding for editing and computer playback. Bluetooth functionality for Android only. Doesn't include external charger.

Performance and Conclusions The NX1 is built for speed. It starts and shoots in less than 0.8-second, locks focus and fires in about 0.05-second, and can rattle off shots at about 14.7fps. A shutter that can open and close at speeds as quick as...

Samsung NX1 Review

The Samsung NX1 is a new professional compact system camera. The DSLR-like NX1 features a 28.2 megapixel APS-C BSI CMOS sensor with no optical low-pass filter, 4K video recording, 15fps continuous shooting, a weather-sealed magnesium-alloy body,...

Samsung NX1 Review – 28 MP 4K Wireless Smart Camera with 16-50mm Power Zoom Lens

Samsung has remained one of the more innovative companies, especially when it comes to digital cameras . The NX1 was the first ever APS-C-sized, 28MP CMOS sensor that's backside illuminated. The BSI sensors move all the circuitry behind the...

* 28.2 megapixel APS-C BSI-CMOS sensor ; * Hybrid AF system with 205 phase-detect points ; * 15 fps burst shooting with continuous autofocus ; * 4K video recording ; * 4K video over HDMI ; * Weather-resistant magnesium alloy body ; * 3" tilting Super...

The NX1’s 28MP backside illuminated sensor produces gorgeous stills and the 4K video footage that comes out of the NX1 is comparable to Panasonic’s lauded GH4. Samsung has managed to create a camera that goes toe to toe with other cameras in its class...

Samsung NX is Fading: NX500 Discontinued, NX1 on Life Support

We have all pretty much accepted it now. Samsung and its mirrorless camera system is dead in the water. The Samsung NX500 that is barely a year old is now discontinued. It had a solid spec sheet and plenty of positive reviews as one of the first 4K...

The NX1 is a solid camera and that 16-50mm f/2-2.8 lens is pretty sexy. If you can live with the rest of the lens limitations for the NX line, you may be able to pick of a nice camera that will last a few years on the cheap soon.

Samsung NX1 Mirrorless Camera Review: Superfast Shooter

With the NX1, Samsung has created a mirrorless camera that's every bit as capable—even more so—than top-performing APS-C DSLR cameras, such as Canon's new 7D Mark II. It's amazing that the NX1 could come seemingly out of the blue and challenge the most...

Incredibly fast frame rates, processing and operation ; Excellent autofocus speed ; Great image quality, especially in low light ; Easy Wi-Fi access ; Superior 4K/UHD video recording.

Face detection could be more accurate ; Awkward control dials ; H.265 video file format difficult to edit ; Limited lens selection.

The NX1 is a groundbreaking device with great features, including rapid shooting and gorgeous 4K video, but it has some rough edges as well.
