Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 has a longer zoom than any other pocketable 1-inch sensor camera, but the lens doesn't live up to its potential.

20MP 1-inch image sensor. 10x zoom range. Quick autofocus and 10fps burst rate. Raw and JPG capture options. Touch screen. Solid high-ISO performance. Good macro capability.

Lens disappoints at telephoto focal lengths. Soft edges at wide angles. LCD is fixed. EVF is quite small.

It's unfortunate that the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100's lens isn't of better quality. It's the weak link in an otherwise excellent performer. No matter how good an image sensor is, or how fully featured a camera is, if the lens isn't up to snuff, images...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100/TZ100 Review

We've posted our review of Panasonic's Lumix DMC-ZS100 (TZ100 outside of North America), which is the first travel zoom to sport a 1"-type sensor. Featuring a 25-250mm equivalent lens, the ZS100 also offers 4K video capture, Post Focus, an EVF and...

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100/TZ100 occupies a spot in the 1"-type enthusiast compact market that has been open since Sony created the genre several years ago. With a 25-250mm equivalent zoom lens and jacket-pocket-friendly body, the ZS100 gives users...

Panasonic Lumix ZS100 (silver)

Part of Panasonic's "travel zoom" series of compacts -- hence its alternate names TZ100 in the UK and TZ110 in Australia -- the ZS100 goes head-to-head with the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV . That's a pretty good deal for its price, as well: $700, £550 and...

The Panasonic's ZS100's 10x zoom lens is thus far the longest we've seen in a compact camera with a 1-inch sensor, and it offers a broad set of features including 4K video.

It lacks a flip-up display and its autofocus speed is just middling.

The Pansonic ZS100 offers great blend of quality, size and features for people who want better photos and are willing to trade off a little quality for a lot of lens.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ100 Review

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ100 (also known as the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100) was announced at the start of 2016 and features a 20.1 million pixel 1-inch MOS sensor. It's also got a 10x optical zoom which covers a 35mm equivalent focal length range of...

In many respects, Panasonic has produced the perfect compact camera for travelling photographers who are looking for very high image quality but also want the flexibility of a zoom.

Panasonic ZS100 Review

The Panasonic ZS100 is a strong new entry into the compact travel zoom camera market. The first ZS-series camera to include a 1"-type sensor, the image quality produced by the ZS100 is impressive. It follows up its good image quality with a versatile...

Compact camera body; versatile 10x zoom lens; relatively good high ISO performance; fast autofocus; many good 4K video and photo features

Soft lens at longer focal lengths; no tilting display; small electronic viewfinder; slippery finish on the camera body

Panasonic Lumix ZS100 Digital Camera Review

In a battle for the high ground, Panasonic is settling for the middle.

In the past few years, you've basically had two choices when it came to compact cameras: large sensors or long zooms. Panasonic's ZS100 is one of the first to find an appealing compromise between the two. And though the image quality isn't quite on par...

Panasonic Lumix TZ100 / ZS100 review

Panasonic's Lumix TZ100, or ZS100 as it's known in North America, is the new top model in its enormously popular travel-zoom series. Announced in January 2016, it follows Panasonic's trend of waiting a year between new models, but after a decade of...

1 inch 20 Megapixel MOS sensor ; 10x 25-250mm f2.9-5.9 zoom lens in a pocket body ; 3 inch 1040k fixed touch-screen and built-in EVF ; 4k UHD video at 24 and 25/30p ; 4k photo and Post Focus modes ; Plethora of physical and touch programmable function...

Screen is fixed ; Lens aperture slower than rivals with shorter zooms or bigger bodies ; No NFC

The Lumix TZ100 / ZS100 resets the clock on Travel zoom development. Rather than exclusively continue with ever longer zooms, Panasonic has boldly split the range, leaving the TZ80 / ZS60 to pursue the long zoom market and allowing the new TZ100 /...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 is the first premium travel-zoom. It elevates the travel-zoom concept which packs a long optical zoom into a compact camera body to premium level with dual control-dials, highly efficient controls and a built EVF with...

Very compact for its sensor and zoom, Low image noise up to ISO 800, Good dynamic-range and image contrast, Reliable metering, Low optical distortion, No visible vignetting, Instant shutter-lag, Fast shot-to-shot speed, Excellent LCD visibility, Nice...

Less softness, much worse along edges, Below-average color accuracy, Occasional cast with Auto White-Balance, Very dim at telephoto, Tiny low-resolution EVF, Highly variable AF, 1s Filming delay, Very short battery-life

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 takes the Travel-Zoom category to the next level by packing a large sensor behind a 10X optical zoom lens while remaining truly compact. Its 20 megapixels 1" CMOS sensor delivers outstanding image quality and performance,...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ100
