Agfa ePhoto CL50

The latest Agfa digital camera is the ePhoto CL50, a 1.3 megapixel (1280x960) CCD imager that is interpolated up to 1600x1200 by the PhotoWise PhotoGenie software. The CL50 features a 3x optical zoom lens, 2-inch color LCD with the patented...

I would have to recommend that most people spend a little more and get the ePhoto 1680 instead, it just works better.

Bought my CL50 two years ago, its a great camera for non action images. Have had no problems with its performance. Although the fact of the speed is too low and to change the shutter speed to what you want instead of auto can only be done on the...

This camera does not read well in low light or when you have a hight speed shot. the shot you want can be gone before the camera reads it.

this is ebay only now... discountinued. Not recommended unless it's free. Optical focus not good, many features for a cheap camera. Nice LCD with sunlight viewing feature. No shutter speed and 10 shot burst is low quality.

No shutter speed, no USB, software inadequate and only works with Windows 9x

Agfa ePhoto CL50

I have used the CL 50 since August 18, 1999. Today is Jan. 21, 2002. I use the camera to take pictures of medical equipment, special human events and snapshots. I've taken about 900 pictures. I enlarge to 8 x 10 about 5% of the shots. The Agfa software...

No problems encountered, except once when the batteries ran out and I didn't have a set with me. Big deal, right

I have taken close to 3000 pictures in the last 18 months with this camera. The majority of the pictures have been very good with excellent results printing them at Ofoto. Clear crisp pictures at 4 * 6 and 5 * 7, I have printed 3 8 * 10 and they had...

Through the lens focus is blurry when zoomed in.

An ok camera we use for our college paper.

Has lots of features to "tweak" images, the only problem is that they are hard to access, you have to have the LCD screen on to use them. That means the batteries run out very fast.

I just bought via ebay a second CL 50. although i still use my first CL 50 (and I made with with it thousands of good fotos), I want to be sure that i still have a reliable camera with this features at that unbelievable price if a problem comes up with...

This is a so-so camera, but really ices the cake is that when the thing broke (the LED screen began to leak) tech support was AWFUL. They sent me two refurbished cameras, neither of which worked AT ALL. They refused to test the cameras before sending,...

So Long To My AGFA CL50

Enough reviews out there on the details specifications of this camera. Just thought I would add how I feel about it after over a year and a half of use.

Excellent quality for a 1.3 megapixel ; Lots of features ; Simple to use

Too much shutter lag for action shots

Product Specifications

The ePhoto CL50 is a high-performing digital camera for business professionals and technology enthusiasts who require advanced features, ease-of-use and a photo-quality, megapixel image. The CL50 offers an optical resolution of 1.3 million pixels (1280 x 960) and through AGFA's PhotoGenie image enhancement technology, the ability to produce images of 1.9 million pixels (1600 x 1200). The ePhoto CL50 is distinguished by superlative technology and unparalleled image quality. The elegant and sophisticated interface of this camera allows for a high degree of quick and easy exposure control. The CL50's 3x zoom lens gets you that much closer to the subject without moving. The photographer has the choice of viewfinder shooting or viewing from the LCD. Preprogrammed buttons provide instant mode changes, i.e. flash-on, red eye, off, etc. The ePhoto CL50 is capable of producing 360-degree panoramic shots with its accompanying PhotoWise software, and you can annotate each photograph with voice for future reminders and record-keeping. The CCD sensor on the ePhoto CL50 has a physical maximum resolution of 1.3 million pixels, which can be increased to 1.9 million pixels (1600 x 1200 pixels) by Agfa PhotoGenie technology. PhotoGenie automatically enhances the image quality when the photos are downloaded from the camera to the computer. The result is sharp, clear images which can be printed in professional quality, along with maximum flexibility in the choice of print size. Another new feature in the ePhoto family is the burst mode function of the CL50: it allows up to 10 shots to be taken in a row at intervals of half a second (only in 640 x 480 pixel resolution).
