This fast performing shooter produced very decent images but its controls were a bit awkward to operate.
Manual exposure control ; speedy performance ; group photo taking made easier with face self-timer ; good image quality
Chunky ; confusing operations in program/manual mode ; lacks wide-angle lens
This IXUS is a very decent camera for shutterbugs who don't need one with wide-angle lens. The speedy performance and decent pictures undermine the fact that the controls on the shooter can be a bit confusing for newbies.

This stylish point-and-shoot delivers quality images, but its slow speed couldn't keep up with our snappy fingers.
28mm wide-angle lens ; array of shooting options ; good image quality ; stylish chassis
A tad heavy and bulky ; sluggish performance
Despite its slow performance in some areas, the Coolpix S710 managed to deliver quality pictures. Shutterbugs who are looking for a shooter that offers more creative exposure controls should consider this point-and-shoot.

Easily accessible settings on top deck ; 28mm wide-angle lens ; natural-looking colors in photographs ; speedy performance
Heavy and a tad bulky ; no major improvements to feature set from G9
The G10 is going to be tough competition for the Lumix and other pro-level point-and-shoots, but it boils down to the image quality which is subjective. The features have not changed much, though it should satisfy those looking for a compact shooter ...

The company's first touchscreen camera features an innovative user interface, but sadly its pictures don't live up to the Nikon name.
Interesting touchscreen interface ; iPhone-like playback navigation ; lush 3.5-inch LCD
Below-average image quality ; no control over zoom speed
The S60 tries hard to differentiate itself from other shooters by having innovative navigation options, but sadly its image quality isn't up to expectations.

Though this shooter isn't perfect, it still remains an excellent compact camera with a wide-angle lens and super-fast image-processing times.
28mm wide-angle lens ; fast DIGIC 4 imaging chip ; large 3-inch LCD
Lacks optical viewfinder ; power button difficult to press
Though the 870 IS isn't perfect with its noise issues and minor design faults, it still remains an excellent compact camera. A sharp lens, fast image-processing times and fantastic picture quality make the IXUS an ideal combination of style and ...
