Canon Powershot SD200

The 3.2-megapixel PowerShot SD200 Digital ELPH and 4.0-megapixel PowerShot SD300 Digital ELPH cameras combine large 2.0-inch color LCD screens, cutting edge technology with UA Lens and Canon's exclusive DIGIC II image processing technology into ultra comp

Bottom line - with a street price of around $299, the SD200 offers excellent value. Its Large SuperFine images have enough resolution to create photo-quality 5x7-inch and larger prints. We feel it will make a good choice for those who want an ultra-compac

Canon PowerShot SD200

Slightly smaller than many preceding Canon Digital ELPH models, the Canon PowerShot SD200 features the great looks and sharp design that are the ELPH signature. Very compact and quick on the draw (thanks to a smoothly operating retractable lens...

Because the ELPH line capitalizes on ease of use, exposure control is typically automatic, increasing the line's appeal to point-and-shoot users. The Canon SD200 sticks to this trend, with a series of unique Scene modes, but does provide a handful of...

Canon PowerShot SD200 Digital ELPH

The old Digital ELPHs were my favorite point-and-shoot cameras -- how does this all new, ultra-thin model compare? Find out now

Very good photo quality (though see issues below) ; Ultra-thin, stylish metal body ; Robust performance ; Excellent continuous shooting mode (with the right memory card) ; First-rate movie mode (finally!) ; Big LCD for a small camera ; AF-assist lamp ;...

Softness around edges and corners of photos; above average purple fringing, as well ; Redeye ; Some vignetting, especially in flash shots ; Ultra-cheap plastic door over memory card / battery compartment ; LCD doesn't "gain up" very much in low light ;...

The SD200 is a ultra-compact digital camera which I can recommend without hesitation. If you want to make larger prints or want more flexibility when cropping your photos, the 4 Megapixel SD300 is also worth a look.

Canon Powershot SD200 Review

A hands-on review of one of the smallest and least expensive digicamsaround, the Canon Powershot SD200. It may be small and it may not be expensive, but it packs a lot of power.

Canon PowerShot SD200

The extremely compact Canon PowerShot SD200 Digital ELPH is one of the two first Canon non-dSLR cameras to feature the all new DIGIC II processor. This processor has improved performance and faster processing speeds compared to the DIGIC processor.

Ultra-compact and stylish design ; Extremely fast and almost zero shutter lag ; Excellent set of features for such a compact camera ; Large and sharp 2.0 inch LCD ; Excellent movie mode (Especially VGA 30 FPS and Fast Frame Rate) ; Overall sharp photos

Limited manual controls ; LCD only brightens a little in low-light ; LCD almost unusable outdoors ; So-so battery life ; Flimsy battery/SD slot door ; Red-eye ; Some soft photos

The Canon SD200 is a great ultra-compact camera though it lacks "real" manual controls and control over fast shutter speed. Custom white balance and long shutter are a plus on the SD200 as few ultra-compact cameras have such features. The essential...

Canon Powershot SD200 Digital Camera Review

The Canon Powershot SD200 is the entry-level model in Canon's latest line of ultra-compact digital cameras.

Very good image quality overall ; Blazing speed in powering on and operation ; Video mode good enough to create homemade DVDs ; Ultra-compact, slim size ; Easy to use ; Robust build quality, elegant design ; Best value in the SD group (SD200, SD300,...

No full manual mode ; Occasional chromatic aberration (purple fringing), slightly soft corners ; Tiny Power button may be too small for some fingers ; Strange vertical streaks/smudges in video in bright light

The SD200 is not just an excellent ultracompact camera; it's an excellent camera that just happens to be ultracompact. There are enough features here to satisfy photographers of any category except perhaps enthusiasts or professionals; if it had full...

Good camera for its price range/size

I bought this camera a couple years ago and have just over 3000 pictures on my computer from it. It does a really good job taking outdoor pictures, especially on a sunny day.

Compact, Takes good pictures

Not great at shooting things in motion

This is a very good camera aside from the fact that the slightest mishandle ends its life. For a college student it was not able to last the first week of school, neither did it survive my sisters fall from her hands to the carpeted floor. The replaced...

Big LCD, Easy to use features, Light, Clean looking

VERY Fragile, any minor bump or bang will break the whole camera, it wont even turn on, lens gets stuck

With 3.2 Megapixels, the superbly styled Digital IXUS 30 is perfect for detailed prints up to A4 size. A new UA (ultra-high refractive index aspherical) lens offers outstanding image fidelity in an incredibly petite form, making this one of the smallest Digital IXUS cameras with a 3x optical zoom. Make extra-long movies at 30fps VGA (recording of up to 1GB movie files possible), then share the fun with friends as you play clips - complete with sound - on the extra large high-definition 2.0" LCD screen, or by connecting direct to TV. You can even record 60 seconds of fast QVGA action at 60fps for slow motion review. Digital IXUS 30 possesses Canon's powerful second-generation DIGIC II image processor. It links key camera functions quickly and efficiently to produce superb image clarity, responsive camera control, fast and accurate auto focus, long smooth continuous shooting and quick start-up times. The 9-point AiAF ensures perfectly focused images, even when subjects are not centered in the frame. iSAPS acts like your own personal photographer's assistant, analyzing the scene before optimizing camera settings to help get the best results from every shooting opportunity. Shoot with confidence and creativity, even in tricky shooting conditions, with six scene modes including Indoor and Night Snapshot. Printing photos should be as easy as taking them - and it is. Connect your camera to any PictBridge compatible photo printer, push the Print/Share button and within seconds, you'll be holding a full color print - it's that simple.
