Canon PowerShot SD600

A midrange member of Canon's SD series of cameras, the Canon PowerShot SD600 is small and light, weighing less than six ounces. The matte-silver metal body, almost identical to the PowerShot SD630's , is compact enough to fit in a shirt pocket but...

Excellent image quality; top-notch build quality; quick performance.

Basic feature set.

Despite its no-frills feature set, the Canon PowerShot SD600 delivers quality photos and strong performance in a small package.

Canon Powershot SD600

The 2006 lineup of six-megapixel Digital ELPH cameras includes the PowerShot SD700 IS, PowerShot SD630 and PowerShot SD600. These cameras maintain the petite profile that has characterized the line since its inception while adding big new features designe

Canon Powershot SD600

While the design of the new SD600 probably won't turn a lot of heads, some of its new imaging attributes are certainly worth a second look. In particular, the SD600's ability to shoot relatively low-noise images at ISO 800 is a huge plus for anyone who...

Canon PowerShot SD600 Camera Review

The SD600 lacks certain features, such as built-in memory, image stabilization, manual exposure control, and a live histogram. These would have been handy, but they're not critical, and their absence hardly hurts the camera's appeal

The Canon PowerShot SD600 is a great compact digital camera. It might not have many bells and whistles, but its quick performance and excellent images make this a great choice for anyone who wants their camera to simply take pictures.

Canon PowerShot SD600

The Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital ELPH is the 2006 successor to the SD450 Digital ELPH. While it features the same 3x zoom lens, Canon plopped in a new image sensor which is suppose to produce images with less noise. And this is no minor upgrade, here...

Ultra-compact and very classy ; Fairly powerful flash ; Large fairly high-resolution LCD ; Fairly fast, unlimited continuous shooting ; Excellent movie mode ; Improved user interface ; My Colors post-processing can be done in playback ; Good high ISO...

Battery life is below average ; No manual controls ; LCD is still not that sharp; hasn't reach its full potential ; Red-eye ; Large movie file sizes and cannot optical zoom or focus when recording ; Fairly high noise at ISO 800 (countered by...

The Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital ELPH is a great go-anywhere camera which took the SD450 and made everything better. The SD600 features 6 effective megapixels, 3x optical zoom and a 2.5 inch LCD.

Mine was run over by a car and I can't use the screen but other than that works great even with smashed housing

"Durable, Good quality photos"

I found this camera in the street one day. It was wet and pretty muddy. I also noticed that it had most likely been run over by a car because it's body has been crushed and deformed. The screen is cracked and unusable. I took some pictures with it at a...

"This camera is GREAT."

If you can get a reasonably priced used one, go for it -- it's definitely worth it.

I've taken more than 35,000 pictures on it during my 4 years with it. It's been dropped (hard!) five or six times, and keeps on tickin'! The "manual" mode allows experimentation and good quality photos in a variety of conditions.

None, really -- I wish it was waterproof!
