The biggest changes on the SD870 compared to its predecessor include a higher resolution sensor (of course), a larger LCD, enhanced face detection, and in-camera redeye removal. Unfortunately, the optical viewfinder disappeared along the way

Nice pictures, small size, large LCD, standard memory card and easy charging, good battery life
LCD only lasted 18 months. A round gray blob showed up the screen after a little over a year, today another one showed up and they slowly grow. There was no incident with the camera, the LCD is just very short lived
