Canon PowerShot A3000 IS

Canon's PowerShot A3000 IS doesn't deliver the best low-light performance, peppy shooting speeds, or extra bells and whistles, but it does deliver sharp, clean images in good light or with flash—at a very affordable price.

Low price. Canon's least expensive camera to include optical image stabilization. Great image quality in well-lit conditions or with flash. Easy mode for photography newbies.

No HD video capture. Slow shot-to-shot speed.

Is the A3000 more than just another budget compact?

The Li-Ion cell brings the A-series up-to-date, but the A3000 fails to match its competition on specs and image quality. The build and Image Stabilisation does go some way to redeeming it, however.
