Canon PowerShot A3400 IS Review

This year Canon has bombarded the entry-level camera segment with their PowerShot A series. We have already reviewed the PowerShot A2400 and the A4000, both of which had done decently well. Another model that had been launched from this series is the...

The camera is priced in India at a street price of Rs.9,695. This camera looks really good and does not resemble a camera priced in the sub-Rs.10,000 category. As for the features, the touch sensitive screen can be a useful addition as one can find...

Canon PowerShot A3400 IS Review

The PowerShot A3400 IS delivers high image quality for the price. Itoffers beginners a Help button, and keeps the features to a usefulminimum that should work well for most everyday shooting needs. Thetouch screen doesn't perform as elegantly as a...

Low-resolution LCD ; 5x optical zoom range can be limiting ; Video quality diminishes with use of digital zoom ; Touch screen swiping is sticky ; Battery life could be better

Canon PowerShot A3400 ISFirst Impressions Review

Canon announced a whole slew of entry-level A-series models this year, including the A3400 IS, on preview here. It replaces last year's A3300 IS model, but unlike its predecessor, the A3400 doesn't sit at the top the budget-cam lineup—that honor goes...

Smartphones are the new snapshot cameras for most people, but some folks still prefer a standalone point-and-shoot camera (they tend to occupy an older demographic). Canon still sees some value in offering those potential buyers plenty of affordable,...

Canon PowerShot A3400 IS

The Canon PowerShot A3400 IS is a 16 Megapixel compact with a 5x stabilised optical zoom and a 3 inch touch screen. Announced along with the rest of the 2012 PowerShot range in January it's the first PowerShot with a touch screen, a feature normally...

3 inch touch-screen ; 5x stabilised optical zoom ; Small and slim, light and sleek ; 16 Megapixel Sensor ; Dedicated help button

Poor High ISO noise performance ; No optical zoom while in movie mode ; Poor continuous shooting performance

The PowerShot A3400 IS is the only A series PowerShot to offer a touch-screen. Canon isn't the only, or even the first manufacturer with a touch screen model in this price bracket, but few of its competitors can match the good looks, feature set, ease...

My wife uses it more

For the price we paid, I say it was a good investment. I would barter 8 lbs of bacon for it.

It takes pictures, it's 16MP and a touch screen. Pictures and video are pretty clear

I'm not a big fan of the battery pack that it uses, I would be more happy using the Lithium AA's ; Flash is extremely bright, my wife reflects said light, crazy

Good pictures

I guess the bottom line is: Does the camera takes good pictures with good color and light balance? This one does better than others we've purchased in the same category. I'd recommend it.

Another great PowerShot

I bought this for my mom and she loves it. It seems i've bought everyone a PowerShot but me lately! You really can't go wrong with Canon's PowerShot line If you're considering a slightly cheaper different brand you should probably think again. It's...

Lightweight, decent quality shots

None that i can think of at the moment
