Canon USA Powershot A400 3.2 MP Digital Camera Green Camera

Canon's PowerShot A400 proves that inexpensive does not always mean cheap. This quality $180 model, a most economical point-and-shoot, has a snazzy case--our test model came in two-tone lime green and silver. "Sunset Gold" and "Sky Blue" are other...

The A400 comes with better-than-average documentation. Our test model had a quick-start guide as well as full printed manuals for hardware and software--all in both English and Spanish. Speaking of software, bundled with the PowerShot A400 is a suite...

Canon PowerShot A400 Digital Camera Review

The Canon PowerShot A400 is a new addition to the PowerShot line. It comes in four stylish colors with sleek silver accents, and has a compact, low slung body made to fit snugly into the palm of the user's hand. The A400 comes equipped with a...

- Concise layout of controls - clear labeling - Viewfinder large for point-and-shoot and well placed -Scene mode display on the LCD screen -Lightweight and simple mode switch, allowing for fast alterations during shooting

- Internal Flash located too close to left side, making it easily obscured -Flimsy memory card/battery cover makes opening a bit of a hassle -Right side could benefit from more of a grip, although the height makes it easy to grip at the top and base...

With a 1/3.2-inch 3.2 MP CCD the A400, for the most part, does perform. Color reproduction is excellent and there is strong image clarity and resolution. The camera does contain some glaring noise problems, making lighting an issue unless constant...

Canon PowerShot A400

The latest entry-level PowerShot model from Canon (as of 8/2004), the A400 is a 3.2 megapixel camera that features a 2.2x optical zoom and DIGIC processor for superb image quality. It also includes a high performance 9-point AiAF autofocus system, Intelli

Canon PowerShot A400

The PowerShot A400 ($179) is Canon's entry-level digital camera. It's a major upgrade to the previous camera to hold that title (the A310), featuring a new 2.2X optical zoom lens instead of the old fixed focal length lens of years past. With a street...

Very good photo quality ; Doesn't feel "cheap", despite its price ; Manual white balance ; AF-assist lamp (but just so-so performance in low light) ; Optional all-weather case ; Good redeye test performance ; Comes in four colors ; Impressive software...

Details can be fuzzy in some pictures ; LCD doesn't "gain up" in low light ; 45 - 100 mm lens means you'd better like telephoto shots ; Slowest shutter speed is 1 second ; Menus seemed sluggish ; Weak flash ; Movie mode has low frame rate, short...

The A400 is a good choice for an entry-level camera, and it gets my recommendation. However, I would suggest spending about $30 more to get the PowerShot A75, which offers manual controls, a more reasonable 35 - 105 mm focal length, and support for...

Canon PowerShot A400

Great basic camera. I used it for several months. When I bought it, it had the best feature set in its price range. The "manual mode" actually is a "Program AE" mode, like in most of Canon SD series. The image quality is superb, I always liked the...

The focal lenght starting at 45mm was a weird design decision! A 2X lens 40-80mm for example, would be better. But it is ok once you get accostumed.

I bought this camera for my father in 2005. He is a seaman and uses it on his travels. It is a very simple camera but it makes good pictures(also with flash). Movis are also good. On or two times he dropped it to the ground but it still works. Must...

Dont expect too much from such a simple camera ; It died in the middle of 2007 because it had become wet. However it was good for around 6000 pics and we got our money back from Amazon ; Now my father uses a Pentax W10 which is waterproof

This is a good camera for everyday use, ie group photos, houses, portraits. I would reccomend this for the complete beginner to digital photography as that what I used it for when I started.

I have used this camera for a while, and I'm very happy of the performance, image quality and overall ! I've got the camera always with me, has dropped it few times, cold and hot weather, on the beach--still working fine , I've made 2-3000 photos so...

It is a bit slow between the frames in flash mode , but for this price I couldn't think of a better !
