Canon PowerShot A495 (Red)

Canon updated 2009's PowerShot A480 by splitting it into two models: the A490 and the A495. The PowerShot A490 is about $20 less expensive than the A495, but it's only available in silver; has a 5-point Face AiAF autofocus system instead of the A495's...

Excellent photos for its price; reliable Auto mode.

Short battery life; low-resolution LCD; slow shooting performance.

The Canon PowerShot A495 is a bargain for anyone concerned more with photo quality than features.

"Save your money for a better camera"

Save your money and buy something better. It's ok for outdoor pictures and if you don't need to zoom. Zoom does very poorly; the pictures almost always come out blurry. As soon as it's getting close to dusk, and at night, it takes forever for the...

Good pictures, simple to use, great for beginners.

I bought two of these cameras to be used by students in a school. I spend no more than 30 seconds explaining them, whether the user, even to people who call themselves "technologically impaired." The pictures are great, enough resolution for yearbook....

Good pictures even in limited light ; Nice timer setting ; Super simple to use for novices

Have to shade LCD screen when shooting in bright light

"Canon Powershot A 495"

May be due to non existent image stabilization not picking up light or some defect...

Good nature pictures, nothing spectacular though.

Incredibly poor pics outside nightime (all fuzzy and looking like neons), and horrible inside where there is light and people's face is blurred.
