Canon PowerShot D20

Canon has taken its time released the next iteration of the rugged cam. The D10 came out in 2009, and its upgrade is now available in the D20. This unusual-looking camera definitely injects some new style into the rugged cam market while also keeping...

Great in-camera interface ; Sharp lens ; Impressive underwater performance

Moderately slow; not suitable for fast-action shots or video ; Unconventional design is interesting but bulky ; Unreliable GPS

From the unconventional design to its remarkable lens, this rugged cam easily sits among the best in the bunch.

Canon PowerShot D20

The GPS-equipped Canon PowerShot D20 is a well-built but large rugged camera with a sharp lens. It produces good-looking images at every supported ISO, but isn't the fastest tough camera that we've tested.

Sharp lens. Good high ISO performance. Integrated GPS

Large, even for a rugged camera. So-so speeds. 1080p video limited to 24fps

The D20 is no slouch when it comes to performance, but it isn't the fastest tough camera we've tested. It starts and shoots in 1.4 seconds, can fire off a photo every half second, and records a 0.2-second shutter lag. The Olympus TG-1 iHS starts in 1...

Canon PowerShot D20

The D20 is Canon's second waterproof model coming a not inconsiderable three years after the original D10 which coincidentally remains in the PowerShot Line-up. A wait of three years is a lifetime in the digital camera world, so you'd be forgiven for...

5x stabilised optical zoom ; Designed for purpose ; 1080p24 video recording ; built-in GPS receiver with track log

Very poor continuous shooting ; Poor noise handling ; No 'door open' warning ; Relatively expensive

The Canon PowerShot D20 is a point-and-shoot compact designed for use outdoors and in the water. The difference between the D20 and many other waterproof compacts, like the Panasonic Lumix TS20 / FT20 is that it's been designed from the ground up for...

Canon PowerShot D20

A solid outdoor shooter, but doesn't stand out from the pack.

Nice outdoor photos; Waterproof and drop-proof design

Mediocre lens hurts image quality; Feature set is relatively sparse

By our count, there are no less than 15 new waterproof cameras in the 2012 model year. We’ve never seen the pool so crowded before. The industry is counting on these adventure-ready cameras to close the sales gap left where cheap point-and-shoots used...

Canon PowerShot D20

I think I can still get by with my PowerShot SD 950 IS with the underwater chasis; the D20 does have a slightly better zoom as well as movie resolution… but the PowerShot SD950 IS has a titanium casing that can't be beat.

Awesome camera....

Like in cons area batteries are a good idea. I purchased SDXC 64gb card for it also. Sandisk with speed rating of 10. The kit I mentioned can be found on newegg as well as the 64 gb card, and kit has a 16gb one too. Girlfriend took to Botanical Gardens...

Basically everything it says on the specs. takes amazing pictures and video for the price of the camera. Waterproof, awesome.... and is small enogh to fit in pocket. takes pics like the high end cameras but doesnt cost 2k. Once you play around and get...

Battery life could be a issue if using max resolution which is just amazing with this camera. Pananoramic and vid recording will drain it pretty fast. I bought a kit just for this camera that came with another battery and a awesome tripod and monopod...

Great Gift!...

I got this for my son because he enjoys paddleboarding and he loves this camera. He doesn't have to worry about getting it wet and can even take video. The video is great. This camera is great for the beach and has lasted the abuse that my son puts it...
