"Camera was bought in US on Jan 7, brought to India."

 

Before lens malfunctioned, which is a common problem with canon cameras, pics were okay. an HD, HS camera would obviously give better results.

Lens stopped working on 7th Jan. went same day to canon service centre in Kolkata, told that canon has revised its warranty policy and only cameras from India, Singapore are covered in warranty in India. had to pay 5K to replace lens.

A disappointing experience with this camera! On Christmas Eve morning I discovered the battery charger on my 8 month old camera had died! There was no way for us to recharge the battery. The part was warranted, but that doesn't help much on Christmas...
