Canon PowerShot SD3500 (pink)

Canon's PowerShot SD3500 IS is sort of a follow-up to 2009's SD980 IS in that it has a touch-screen LCD and features the same ultrawide-angle 24mm-equivalent lens with a 5x zoom. This time around, though, the resolution's been bumped up to 14...

Nice design; large touch-screen LCD; Eye-Fi memory card support

Slow shooting performance

The Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS offers up decent photos, touch-screen controls, and an ultrawide-angle lens, but that's pretty much where the excitement ends.

Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS

When I started with this camera, I was not a fan of the touch screen feature. However, Canon has won me over with this one, thanks to a very responsive system. The images taken from the SD3500 were of excellent quality and the camera feels well built...

Great quality HD video ; 5x zoom gets in closer to the action ; 24mm wide angle extreme great for indoor photos and outdoor landscapes ; Large screen with good outdoor visibility ; Responsive touch screen ; Easy to use controls ; Cool" Bump feature

Flash is in lousy position position ; With wide angle lens, needs a panoramic scene mode ; Macro mode was not the best, lens kept getting in the way of the flash ; Average shooting performance

Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS Review

The Canon SD3500 takes a less-is-more approach and does away with almost all physical controls and buttons in favor of a 3.5-inch touchscreen.

Large 3.5-inch LCD ; Good image quality ; HD 720p video

Expensive for class ; Some overexposure ; Touch LCD can be tricky

Higher sensitivity settings show flat colors, reduced contrast, lots of noise, and fuzzy details. At the ISO 400 setting, noise levels are noticeably higher and there's a (barely) perceptible loss of minor detail. ISO 800 images are noisy, but not as...

Canon PowerShot SD3500IS Digital Camera Review

The PowerShot SD3500IS has a great touch interface, a nice feature set and decent image quality, but it suffers from slow shooting performance.

Great image quality ; Responsive touch screen ; Built-in HDMI output

Slow shooting performance ; Hard to open port doors

The Canon PowerShot SD3500IS is available from Canon's website as well as Amazon.com where it retails for $299.99 in black, silver and pink.

Canon PowerShot SD3500IS (Canon IXUS 210) Review

Optically, the camera is a winner: the lens is a stabilised 5x optical zoom, equivalent to a range of 24-120mm in 35 SLR-talk. Its maximum aperture of f2.8 is useful and will appeal to low light users. The only catch is that, once you zoom out to the...

A complete disapointment

I have been a big fan of Canon cameras. Owned 2 SLRs, and 6 point and shoot ones in the last 9 years. SD3500 was by far the worst ever purchase made by me. I am saddened to observe a downward quality trend of Canon products. Every camera I bought had...

Cannot not think of any

Terrible picture quality. 4 out 5 photos are out of focus, incorrect WB for indoor shooting, a very long delay for the flash to recharge. And this is almost in every shooting mode: A, P, Portate, indoors, etc

"Great for Real Estate"

Great option for Realtors looking for a wide angle lens without spending big bucks.

I needed an affordable camera with a wide angle option for taking pictures of listings. So far it's been a great camera!

None to report as of yet

"Fragile touchscreen-- Canon wont repair!"

After a few months, I traveled to visit my sister by plane. I kept my camera in carry-on luggage and stored it under the seat in front of me-- it was also in its carrying case. When I got to my sister's the touch screen was broken. Doesn't take photos....

I was so happy with this camera when I first purchased it. It takes great photos, has a great interface, and is sleek.

broke easily, not covered by warranty
