Canon PowerShot SD430 Digital Elph Wireless

The SD430 Digital Elph Wireless lets you wirelessly transmit photos to a computer, network, or printer.

Very good picture quality. Speedy performance.

Should include more ease-of-use features that help with connecting and troubleshooting wireless. Expensive for a 5MP camera. ; Watch the Canon PowerShot SD430 Video Review!

Powershot SD430 Digital Camera

The PowerShot SD430 Digital Elph Wireless is the latest in Canon's popular range of Digital Elph point-and-shoot cameras. Like many other camera companies, Canon has been adding wireless functionality to its cameras, and the SD430 comes with a built-in...

At $500, the SD430 is a bit on the expensive side for a 5-megapixel camera, and you seem to be paying a big premium for the wireless features. It's $100 more than the Nikon P2, which also includes wireless. However, in our tests the Canon had a slight...

Canon PowerShot Digital Elph review

Canon PowerShot Digital Elph

Wi-Fi capability includes full remote control and capture; ultracompact design; excellent burst capabilities; low shutter lag.

Cannot e-mail from camera as with Kodak's EasyShare One; no remote capture via USB; few manual controls or scene modes; image quality far from stellar.

The Canon SD430 is the only consumer-level choice out there for wireless remote shooting and capture, but it's an otherwise average camera.

Unlike other Canon PowerShot ELPH digicams, the SD430 "rocks." Stood on end like its cousins were designed to do, the Canon SD430 is actually resting on its slightly curved WiFi antenna. Following Nikon and Kodak into the WiFi-enabled digicam arena,...

Canon PowerShot SD430 Digital ELPH Wireless

Aside from the Wi-Fi, the SD430 is a lot like the PowerShot SD400, with a 5 Megapixel CCD, 2" LCD display, point-and-shoot operation, VGA movie mode, and a compact metal body

Very good photo quality (though see issues below) ; Compact and stylish metal body ; Built-in Wi-Fi for wireless transmittal of photos to a PC or printer (though see issues below); Camera can be controlled wirelessly; Printer Adapter included (Nikon...

Canon PowerShot SD430 camera

The Canon SD430 is attractively styled, and has good image quality and zoom range. But considering its poor battery life and noisy operation, its price isn't entirely justified.

Good image quality; good zoom range; compact size

Poor battery life; zoom and focus mechanisms are noisy; expensive

The image quality of the 5-megapixel SD430was above average; test images were well exposed, with good color and plenty of detail. The zoom range is 5.8mm to 17mm (equivalent to 35mm to 105mm on a film camera). Battery life was unimpressive, though,...
