Casio Exilim EX-S5 review

The Casio Exilim EX-S5 is capable of producing very good photos without a handful of caveats typical of budget-priced compact cameras. It looks nice, feels well constructed (except for a flimsy battery compartment door), is easy to use, and has a...

Slim, pretty design; very good feature-to-price ratio; above average photo quality for its class.

Long shutter lag.

A budget ultracompact worth buying, the Casio Exilim EX-S5's only real issue is shutter lag.

Casio Exilim EX-S5 – Black – A Simple Point And Shoot Camera

Casio Exilim EX-S5 is a point and shoot ultra compact camera and just like most point and out cameras out there, it doesn't have much fuss over options and thus make a great option for entry level. An entry level camera has it own sets of drawbacks...

Super slim and light camera, photo quality is good for its class

Shutter lag is too long

Casio Exilim EX-S5 is good camera considering it costs only $130 but it lacks features and if you are a photograph enthusiasts this will be nightmare for you. However if you are a newbie this is a great camera. We would also ask people who lack...

Casio Exilim EX-S5 Review

The Casio Exilim Ex-S5 is definitely the camera to buy if you are looking for a consumer friendly camera that is easy on your wallet and you don't want to stress your brain. It's a simple camera that provides excellent photo quality, ease of use, and...

Excellent picture quality for the price point. Sleek and light design is perfect for taking pictures anywhere. Good HD video quality

Indoor pictures tend to fair less in quality due to the brightness of the flash even with white balance adjusted or the Best Shots feature enabled

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Kind of slow, laggy

Bought this for my girlfriend, she owned one of the first exilims when they were made with a real metal casing (2005ish?) so she bought this to replace it, turns out its very cheap and it shows, she hardly ever uses this one, might have to get a Can*n...

Lightweight, cheap

Shutter lag is quite high, feels flimsy, cheap plastic

I have two of these in the House

Ease of use. Very good picture quaility. Quality build

It's a point and click so it's not a DSLR. I would help if you know about ISO and calibration of the camera in some settings

CASIO Exilim EX-S5 Black 10.1 MP 2.7" 115K LCD 3X Optical Zoom Digital Camera

Fragile. This should go without saying but don't drop it or throw it around. The lens aperture will get messed up with rough handling.

Light weight, compact, easy to use. Great camera for an amazing price. The pictures are crisp and beautiful. I'm not a professional photographer so I don't know about advanced settings but the picture settings that comes with the camera are all that I...

The resolution on the LCD screen is kind of poor. It might seem like you took a bad/unclear picture but the final result is unaffected

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Nice for the price

Very small and lightweight, perfect for your typical point and shoot type user like myself. Nothing fancy but still plenty of options/settings for such a budget camera

The LCD screen is a little grainy, of course the pictures turn out fine just kind of a disappointment when trying to view pictures from the camera

Ideal Carry Around Camera

Overall, perfect camera for the novice photographer who just wants a camera around all the time.

Great little camera with easy to navigate options and high picture quality. Fits easily anywhere so there is no reason to leave it at home even if you're going to a seemingly meaningless event. Plus it has the face detection and anti-shake features...

Not as good for zooming in as my last (Kodak) camera, if you want detail say from 20+ feet probably not gonna get it, depending how small it is
