Casio EX-Z4

The EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z4 is the latest addition to the EXILIM Series of card-size LCD digital cameras. The EX-Z4 features a CCD imager with 4 million effective pixels plus a high- performance 3X zoom lens. Like the original EXILIM EX-S1 and EX-S2 cameras...

Hopefully this fixes the blue-cast problems that many Z4 users have been reporting.

Bought one spring 2004. camera with nice size and lots of nice bells and whistles, BUT the image quality just is not satisfying. some trick image modes I've not seen on any other camera.

high noise at >ISO100 ; pictures taken with flash very unnatural ; manual focus is there but it's unusable due stupid controls/view on screen ; not very well constructed/durable, my Z4 broke 2 times

I have a Panasonic FZ20 (big zoom slr style camera) and purchased the Casio to compliment the Panasonic, which is too big to take everywhere. The Casio is a great little camera that's built so very well well and takes excellent pictures in most...

at very low light, full zoom can be grainy, but wow, its like that an almost every digital camera I have tried

not extremely happy with this model

Compact, lightweight, multiple picture taking modes, easy to use

zoom sucks. When you take a picture in zoom mode with any kind of action, it comes out blurry. I also notice that every picture I take with it comes out blurry if there is any movement whatsoever. I have had problems with that blue tint nonsense with this

So I bought this camera for candid shots. Something my wife could throw in her purse, or me in a pocket when going out somewhere to have fun, or a party. When taking pictures is an incidental, not the primary purpose. We've gotten good quality...

No problems. No focus issues

Great little companion

Fits great in the pocket! love the large LCD and the menu's are so easy to understand. Comes with lots of great modes, one being night mode which takes great clear photos

the digital zoom is a disappointment, but that goes for all digital cameras

A 007 Choice

1st: eye-candy 2nd: performance matches looks; + 'Best-Shot' mode is an excellent feature + Using Night Shot allows one to take beautiful photos without flash. + Large screen allows framing to be perfected, even in those hard to reach places + Reliabil

Unable to plug straight to TV. - A Low-Light situation (with no flash) may cause noise - One get's attached to it

cradle - can't download pics at another location... no movie

Product Specifications

EXILIM EX-Z4 is the latest addition to Casio's award winning EXILIM ZOOM. The EXILIM EX-Z4 has a resolution of 4.0 million effective pixels and is packed with features to enable users to take fantastic pictures whatever the occasion. A combination of outstanding design, portability and high performance has put EXILIM ZOOM at the forefront of the market trend for compact, stylish and thinner digital cameras. Cutting edge technological developments such as Casio's stack MCM chip mounting technique and the 3 segment telescopic zoom mechanism have enabled the EX-Z4 to retain the distinctive EXILIM 'credit card size' height and width. The new EX-Z4 is a mere 23.1mm at its widest point and only 19.7mm at its thinnest. The well-loved ability to integrate short movies with sound has now been enhanced by allowing recordings of up to 60 seconds, and a new built-in speaker allows for audio playback. New features such as still image with audio and voice recording capabilities have also been added, and an improved lower power design has extended the battery life of the EX-Z4, allowing longer continuous recordings. An extra-large 2.0" TFT LCD, which features Casio's unique digital interface, can be used both as a viewfinder for composing images, as well as a portable album for viewing images instantly. The EX-Z4 also features Casio's quick response technology that has become a feature of all its digital cameras. Casio's technology not only enables the camera to power up and be available to shoot in just over a second, but also a shutter release time lag of 0.01 second, resulting in almost instantaneous image capture after pressing the shutter release button.
