Casio Exilim EX-Z450

A 12.1 megapixel camera with a 4x wide-angle optical zoom 24-112mm lens. It feels both solid and comfortable in the hand and while it looks very similar in controls and dimensions to hordes more on the market, it does have a few unexpected surprises.

There's no shortage of digital compacts on the market, so what sets the Z450 apart from the competition? Well, there are a couple of cool touches, such as Makeup and Landscape. Makeup adjusts smoothness of skin and softens shadows while Landscape...

In video mode, you can only record 10 minutes maximum in one sitting, there’s no preview function and the optical zoom won’t operate while shooting. You can, use any of the 38 scene modes in the Best Shot menu to suit your video shooting conditions,...

The quality of the finished images is solid without being exceptional. The Canon Digital IXUS 120 IS gives better results, but the Casio EXILIM EX-Z450 is £100 cheaper. Worth a look if you’re counting the pennies post-Christmas.

Casio EXILIM EX-Z450

Casio joins the compact 12.1 mega pixel party

We were thoroughly disappointed with handling, the OSD and ultimately the results, particularly in low light and macro modes. The EX-Z450 simply isn't a contender in the highly comparative £200 compact zoom market.

I love the make up mode because it makes my skin looks like a baby's.
