Casio EX-Z50

Casio's new EXILIM ZOOM model (as of 10/2004), the EX-Z50 incorporates Casio's EXILIM Engine, a 5-megapixel imager, and Pentax's high-quality smc 3x optical zoom lens. It shares these features with its "big brother" the EX-Z55, but has a smaller...

Bottom line - the EX-Z50 is pretty much identical to the EX-Z55, with the exception of the smaller LCD and slightly shorter battery life. That said, we feel it will make a great choice for anyone who wants an ultra-compact that has good image quality, spe

Digital Cameras - Casio Exilim EX-Z50 Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications

With its tiny size, generous range of preset exposure modes, and 5.0-megapixel CCD, the Casio Exilim EX-Z50 Zoom is an excellent option for anyone constantly on the go. The 23 preset shooting modes make it easy for novices to capture good-looking...

Pleasing color, White balance handles incandescent lighting fairly well, Excellent macro ability, Nifty "White Board" and "Business Card" modes great for note-taking., Good build quality, all-metal case, Built-in lens cover, Incredible battery life,...

It is often foolhardy to apply a fixed specification grid over a range of products and pick a clear winner. Many products are built to satisfy ãchecklist shoppers,ä packing in all the buzzwords of the day without a thought to making them all easily...

Other features worth mentioning are the optical viewfinder and Casioâs superb sync-and-charge desktop cradle. Somehow these guys managed to squeeze in what has to be the tiniest optical viewfinder ever. It crops dramatically, but in extremely bright...

Good camera, but mine broke a few times

The camera takes nice photos when it is working. The motor that opens and closes the lens has broken 3 times, rendering it usless until you get it fixed. The reason it keeps happening is becuase the camera keeps turning itself on in my pocket.

Good pictures, decent sized LCD, many scene modes

Had to send to repair 3 times now, there are now better, thinner, cameras on the market

Great little camera with some limitations

I bought this camera when it first came out and paid $400. It was well worth the money at the time and is still worth it. However there are a few limitations that continue to "bug" me. First, in limited light, i.e. outdoors in cloudy weather or...

Owners Opinion: Casio Exilim EX-Z50 (RandallA, 16 Mar 06)

I went from a small mega-pixel Nikon Coolpix to this camera because I wanted the 5 mega-pixels (=better image quality?), and have been using it for about 9 months now. I also liked it's slim design that allowed me to just slip it into my pocket....

Menu's, Owners Manual. Wrist strap is way to small for my hand(s)

I am very impressed with this camera.

I bought this camera through and have been impressed with both the camera and Circuit City from the word "Add to Cart". I would recomend either to anyone looking for a good quality, portable camera. It has a lot of functionality that...

Product Specifications

The silver metal case of the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z50 is exclusively made from finest quality materials. Thus the camera possesses the strikingly elegant brilliance of the authentic EXILIM. BESTSHOT functions are practically pre-settings for different motifs and lighting conditions. The EXILIM Zoom EX-Z50 offers 23 BESTSHOT modes. You can also create, store and call up your own modes with BESTSHOT at any time. New: 2 integrated Business Shot programs for distortion-free reproduction of business cards and projection charts. For flash photos, the background often remains too dark and the motif is not fully illuminated. The solution: Flash Assist. With this function, the brightness of the motif is automatically enhanced. Changing between the normal focus and the macro range is really fast - with the Auto Macro function. The macro region, i.e. the close-up region of the EX-Z50, comprises distances between 6cm and 50cm. Before each photo, the camera measures the distance to the motif and automatically sets the right focal range. Every picture is thus crystal-clear, even close up to important details.
