Casio Exilim EX-Z57 Review

Lots of scene modes, Large 2.7-inch LCD

Few manual controls

The small EX-Z57 offers plenty of scene modes for the point-and-click crowd, and very long battery life, but users desiring manual controls will feel stifled.

Casio Exilim EX-Z57

At some point, you have to figure that the dominant digital photography trends of smaller cameras, bigger LCD screens, and more megapixels will reach a critical point, and we'll be left with some sort of tiny 12-megapixel monocle. Until that day...

Large, bright LCD screen; outstanding battery life; intelligent and eye-catching design; solid indoor photo quality.

Poor outdoor photo quality; no burst mode; few manual features.

The Casio Exilim EX-Z757 is a great-looking, 5-megapixel point-and-shoot with a big screen and so-so photo quality.

The 2.7-inch LCD is an easy way to share pictures, The text in the menus and alerts is readable and attractive, Strong graphic element to menus - maintains visibility in extreme lighting, Long battery life (roughly 400 shots per charge), Sturdy build

Performs slowly, Poor performance in Auto ISO mode (high noise), Colors were inaccurate and lacked vibrancy, Large LCD has limited resolution, Limited manual controls, Menu structure could be better organized, Included software is difficult to use

With a 1/2.5-inch 5 megapixel CCD sensor and large 2.7-inch LCD screen available for under $300 online, the 3.

The $380 Casio Exilim EX-Z57 makes a fashion statement with its large 2.7-inch LCD and thin silver alloy chassis. The EX-Z57 weighs just 5.2 ounces, so it's light enough to carry comfortably in a shirt pocket. It sports a 3X optical zoom and shoots...

Owners Opinion: Casio Exilim EX-Z57 (databanka, 27 Mar 07)

I'm very impressed, for the money: 1) Rock Solid constuction. Access doors and body all solid metal, hinges and springs are strong. 2) Super Long battery life! I took it on vacation for a week and never had to charge it. I took 500+ shots. 3)...

No Problems. But screen could have higher resolution. There are no special shooting modes, like Canon. And the movie mode is really basic
