Casio QV-2300UX Plus Digital Camera Review: Intro and Highlights

A long-time innovator in the consumer electronics market, Casio Inc. introduced its first digital camera, the QV-10, in the mid '90s. It was not only one of the original consumer digicams, it was also the first to incorporate an LCD monitor for viewing...

Casio QV-2300UX Plus

What's in the Box

Lots of features ; Cool "Scene" mode ; Well designed user interface ; Fast processing ; USB support ; IBM Microdrive in the box

Poor quality plastic body ; No optical viewfinder ; No uncompressed TIFF mode ; No sound with video ; Photo quality often soft and "brownish

There are two ways to look at the QV-2300UX Plus: As a $800 camera, and as a $400 camera with a $400 memory card. I tend to choose the latter option, though the camera is really packed with features for a $400 camera. The downside here is that the body...

Excellent camera for it's price/features. A 2.1 megapixel digital camera with a 340mb IBM microdrive for $699.00 CAD is a great value.

340mb IBM microdrive allows you to take 401 pics at max resolution of 1600x1200. -Records movies AVI format up to 16 secs. in length. -USB and TV out capable

No optical viewfinder and the LCD display is difficult to use,if not impossible, in bright sunlight or low light situations. -Didn't come with an AC adapter and a set of batteries get used up quickly while trying to become familiar with the camera.

Casio QV 2300UX

I find this camera to be usefull in its ability's and resonable in cost. Do not use program included with camera....to many faults and unable to do the quality that the camera deserves....QV-Autovam the best so far that I have encountered.

Rotating lens many features to improve photo quality at source

view screen hard to see when in sunlight Program included with cam not equal to the camera's abilities....not a good program.
